This game requires a nice balance of all the various parameters and I am not sure I have achieved that yet. If you find yourself failing too often or succeeding too easily, feel free to tweak the source in Processing.
Some knowledge of the human HLA sytem may be useful

but the allele nomenclature used here is simulated.

This adds an intro screen where you can input the various simulation parameters, a halo to identify the player character, and a visual indicator for the process of donating alleles from the player character to the recipient.

You really need your instructions to be more specific, I can't figure out what I'm supposed to do.
My guess is:
-Anti-Vaccini...cists are weak against illness an thus a source of mutated nasty stuff.
-Someone in the the crowd might be naturally immune to this mutated virus and can spread his defenses by donating it around (or the immunity appears by crossing donations).
What I'm not sure is if the virus and the immune system can keep mutating and if you can cure those who are already sick (or if anything I've written is actually right).
SPOILER ALERT
@Prealpha has it about right. My idea was to have multiple levels with increasingly difficult parameter sets for different diseases but of course ran out of time to implement that. Mutating the virus would add an additional level of complexity, nice suggestion.
It was hard to get the picture together but now I'm starting to understad things. The only thing I don't understads is why cure anyone if you win just by surviving?
was not really sure what to do -- it was interesting -- nice effort
I liked the art style. Has potential but I didn't really understand it or what I was supposed to do. Also was difficult to tell who i was controlling.
Nice looking game, a little confusing, but I think I work it out mostly. Nice job.
@RawBits Just surviving is a lonely existence, is it not?
@jovoc I agree that it is difficult to see whom the player is controlling, I should have added a visual indicator.
@Beanalby Thanks for the suggestion, added a note to the description.
This was all a bit obtuse for me. Some more specific instructions would be good.
Took me a while to get the hang of. I'm still not sure that I get it. You might want to post detailed instructions on this page or in a readme. In any case, the core concept is really cool, and the game has slick graphics, plus it really plays to the theme in a fundamental way. Good work!
As many others here I didn't understood the game, but I liked the audio and colors pallete.
THis game is sweet, and defidently has A LOT of potential! Love the art, and if it had a background, it would set the mood completely!:D
Ha, I like that you have to do research for a game. I liked the graphics (if I looked beyond the graphical corruption, java and compatibility). It wasn't really clear for me what my influence on the others were and how the protesters were dangerous, but maybe I'm one of Award winners ;)
It took me quite a while to understand the mechanics, and I'm still not sure I got it right. From what I gather the idea here is really interesting and judging from the gameplay and other comments, this entry's only big flaw is the lack of explanations anywhere. Looking at the gampleay/walkthrough video doesn't clear a thing, too. Maybe I'm just too dense, but I'd welcome some explicit info on what I see on the screen and what I'm supposed to do, especially since the game looks and sounds very good. All in all, it's a job well done, but some more gameplay info would be great. :)
When I click the .bat, all I get is the CMD popping up before disappearing in a blink. I assume I lack some dependency.
I lol'd at the concept. The graphics and sound seem appropriate. I wasn't quite sure what to do or how it all is supposed to work, though, and that was a little frustrating.
@Puzzlem00n I assume you are on Windows, 32 bit or 64 bit? Do you have a JDK or JRE version 1.6 or later installed?

I'll have to come back when I book into linux and try this out.
