August 24th-27th 2012 :: Theme: Evolution
Just unrar the file and play the game! Soundtrack is included. This is my first attempt in competition like Ludum Dare and the game doesn't really look like I would wanted (mainly the goal is very limiting) but why not share it. Written in C#/XNA. If you're not sure whether you have redists installed, download the Setup version.
You can read controls and other useful information right in the game.
I hope you'll enjoy it atleast a bit :-)

The environment itself is fascinating, I found myself wondering about the constant change and evolution of the cells and losing the game in process *laughs*. The gameplay itself isn't as appealing as the environment, however I found this piece really refreshing and interesting. It surely has some potential in it!
Absolutely beautiful music and mood! Process is interesting, but it's difficult to control everything that happens. Anyway cute game!
P.S. Soundtrack goes to my ipod :)
Interesting game :) It feels like you start off with the movement too sluggish though. I liked the goal to keep colours balanced - it's the opposite of my game where you must eradicate the others!
kinda chaotic. but i like the originality of this game. nice soundtrack too.
Soundtrack is amazing, if it's your own piece, you, man, have some talent! Game alone is kinda strange and feels more like a sim, but it's cool one.
Nice atmosphere and music, i wanted more time to watch the cells interact and evolve. Was quite realxing
Reminded of Everyday shooter with the cool music and zoning out while you play it.
Nice and relaxing, and I didn't care to mux about the lack of a goal.
Great music and ambient. The percent are too small and I think that 3 colored ( or just one with 3 parts ) would make a better job for showing player the color balance. I spent good time on your game thanks !
Very relaxing and colorful experience. Not so much of a game with an objective, but neat to see how the colors evolve. Great music as well.
Interesting game. Difficult to figure out what to re-balance, but I like it! Especially the music! The music is really awesome.
Cool visuals, GREAT music and a fun and soothing gameplay mechanic. Well done!
Unfortunately, won't run on Win7 x64. After the start screen I hit space bar and then it crashes.
to csanyk: That is strange. I run Win7 x64 too and there is no problem. Check if you have latest .net and xna redists installed.
This I could score on mood. It was certainly submittable. Best soundtrack I have heard by far! Graphics were good and simple. Just needed a bit more gameplay (but you got more than my game anyway :))
Wonderful aesthetics and mood! It reminds me of Flow, or maybe Spore's first evolutionary stage (although in that particular case it's about survival of one cell).
Here's an idea: maybe you could add some rules a la Conway's Game of Life. If actual structures actually start forming as the music slowly evolves, I think it would have a wonderful aesthetic effect, of 'seeing life growing'. Great submission, loved it!
Momentum based movement sucks! It makes the game uncontrollable when implemented by inexperienced people...
Anyway I like the idea and those coooloooors! 8) Trippy trippy. Music is very good. Not sure how the catastrophe works though.
I love the music in this! As for the actual game, it feels like there are some clever things going on that I don't understand, or that I'm not aware of. I'm not really sure what effect I'm having on things beyond causing catastrophies to reduce the population of a particular colour. Otherwise it's a nice ambient game :)

As you said, the game would have been better with an actual objective, but it's t already great and very relaxing.
