August 24th-27th 2012 :: Theme: Evolution
Evolve the rules as you play!
Starting as a simple space-war game, every time you clear a sheet you choose to evolve a rule.
Play again, then change another.
What will you evolve? What will you discover?
With different choices every time no two games will ever be the same.
Meta-game inspired by Richard Dawkins' Biomorphs
Written in Monkey (www.monkeycoder.co.nz)
Update! Added a version that works in a smaller window. Still the same game code as the compo version, so featuring all your favourite bugs, but more visible on laptops etc.
Current Known Bugs:
- No top speed when in car mode
- Player speed not reset to 0 at start of new sheet
- 'Free movement' doesn't shoot in last moved direction
- 'Random' enemies are always the same (static)

The idea behind this is fantastic, it seems like it could be great as a post-compo. Sadly, the gameplay is a little lacklustre, but well done!
Yes, spent too much time on the evolving and not enough on the game! There are supposed to be many more things you can evolve between rounds, including some bigger surprises like suddenly letting you scroll on a large playfield, or adding a score. Might well do some post-compo work as I've done the hard bit now (and I can get someone in who can draw)
Really interesting concept, there could have been much more different mutations though, right now it's bit too simple to hold interest for very long.
A good game I think. Interesting and nice execution, because there really are all kinds of mutations. It needs some tweaking.
This game was pretty rough around the edges. That said, I really like this interpretation of the theme, and I'd love to see how far one could take this concept (what series of small changes might change a thing like this into an RTS? I dunno, but I wanna find out!)
interesting but as others have said just not much to actually do, often once you have more enemies also you tend to die instantly right when you spawn
Liked the concept, could become a very interesting game if there were more choices for evolution.

It's an interesting concept, well attached to the theme. Unfortunately didn`t find enjoyment. Thmubs up for the innovation though.
