I really liked the sound effects and the graphics. It makes good use of evolution, too. However, I was unsure of what exactly I was supposed to do, and just kinda got lost.
We added a tip in the description. There IS an objective, just try A.G.A.I.N.
Hey guys, amazing game. I like the graphics style and the character. And the evolution too. Dont forget this project. Rated. o/
Just saw after that there was an updated version.
I loved the concept and the feel of the game.
Great job guys!
Sound effect and graphics are good. Unity took ages to load, and the game is horribly bugged, I see you've added bug fixes in your post compo update but the rules say you are allowed to fix your compo submission just not add new features. The improve each time is a nice feature, but its become more of a kill yourself to make you better.
@darkshadow Thanks! We are currently working on the bug fixes... About the "become more of a kill yourself to make you better" issue, we know about it but we can`t change(or improve) the logic because it will count as a new feature. Sadly :/
But still, we will not forget this project after Ludum Dare.
Dang, this is pretty cool, but yeah kinda buggy. The level design is a bit too random, after a while it gets tedious because the game doesn't even hint at which way you're supposed to go. Great visual style, very promising!
got a little frustraintg -- updated version was equally as frustrating -- too bad too -- the graphics look cool, and so did the intro -- good effort.
Even with a some bugs, I really dug you got better at stuff because you died because you weren't good enough. Nice idea.
Very ambitious given then time frame. A little hard to control, but an awesome concept.
Cool graphics and camera angle. The concept is very interesting, too bad the bugs didn't let me finish it =/ I'll try the updated version later.
I thought the idea (of improving at whatever you are trying to do when you die) was pretty neat. I liked the proportion of the character and the glowing objects. I found the control to be too finicky to really enjoy moving around the world much; I would have enjoyed exploring more otherwise.
Good idea, and the execution almost worked. Lack of an easily accessible pause menu (I couldn't find one... I had to Task Manager my way out. :/), poor collision detection, and a brutal learning curve make this game hard to play.
Thanks guys! We really appreciate the feedbacks!
Like I said, we are working on a Post Compo version with bug fixes, because our horribly full agenda on this week we will release the version just by this next weekend. I will update the description when we release the Post Compo version.
And I just want to say that you can beat the game. It`s hard but you can :)
I liked de ideia, graphics and sounds.
Collision need a lots of fixes, and sometimes when I die the caracther get stuck on a black screen.
I will be back to play the fixed version
Great graphics. I like the tron theme. Not really sure where to go.
Nice concept and TRONish graphics. Audio is at the right place too. Altough physics and mechanics are a bit buggy. Hope you'll fix it, I love 3D platformers :)
love the graphic style. some puzzles seemed to be impossible to do if you upgraded an ability to much, maybe could have used more air control when jumping.
Great little platformer. I love the environment: structure, textures and lighting. Controls could be tightened some, but overall awesome job.
This is an awesome game. It's one of the best looking games in the jam I came along until now. And that's not only because of the interesting lighting but because the whole setting is just somewhat different. The sounds really make the atmosphere very dense. The gameplay is unfortunately pretty bugged for me (Is the link above, or the link in the comments the one that I should play to rate?). I would love to play this game again once the bugs are not that dominant.
@timtipgames Thanks for your reply! Actualy just ignore the first comment that say about the bugfix, play the game that is in the link above. It was the first time we develop for ludum dare so we got a little confuse about the way we do the post compo, and now we cant delete that comment... :( If there is a way to delete tell me please :)
And about the Post Compo build, we are working on it and when we finish it I'll update the description and put a proper link above for this new build.
To all replying this: Thank you very much! We know about the issues in the gameplay and level design, we are working on it! Sadly we dont have too much time to work on the project, but we are doing our best to finish the post compo build!
Cheers!
Very impressive game, you have to improve 2D/3D navigation, level guide and collisions.
Add a HUD please. And any signal to follow :D
Music and graphics are nice, but there are a lot of bugs.
First, clipping is just not working. You get halfway into the ceiling and stuck in every wall. Also you stuck like what ever you do it doesn't count until the game decides to unstuck you. The cube when thrown can hovering in mid air or you can throw it in the wall.
You should have some kind of indicator for the abbilities and for the breath under water. If I can't see exactly these values like in a progressbar or something than I can't judge what can be done.
Also smashing SPACE like crazy to swim up isn't a good practice I think. It should be just holding it down.
So guys I didn't know what have you learned in the university but this many people in 3 days should have done better!
Really excellent graphics. Great game with lots of potential. Is it buggy - yes. But this game show lots of promise and I for one look forward to seeing it when you have ironed out the kinks!
I really enjoyed this game although it was pretty brutal. I don't think the evolution mechanism needs explaining: I started playing the game before reading the hint above, and it was quite fun working out what was happening and how to make use of it. The graphics were lovely, although as mentioned elsewhere, the controls and clipping etc. were slightly buggy. I also encountered a couple of odd one-off bugs: My avatar respawning in pitch darkness unable to move, and my avatar behaving like he was underwater after respawning (so he could 'swim' through air). The learning curve was tough in places, but generally quite well judged. However, I think the game really needed some kind of save or (probably better) checkpoint mechanism, since there were a few tricky bits that took me quite a long time to work my way back to each time I failed to get past them.
Excellent game guys, really loved the experience of playing around with the mechanics and then seeing my attributes evolve and the building of the music really sealed the deal for me. Really like the bold nature of no HUD and the little touches with the intro. Looking forward to your future stuff ;)
