August 24th-27th 2012 :: Theme: Evolution
God called in sick today, so it looks like you're stuck with having to make life.
Ah well. No biggie.
Shape the world how you like. Have a play around. When you get the conditions right, life will evolve.
This game is a simple, relaxing puzzle game in which you maniplate the landscape and weather in an attempt to evolve intelligent life. Alternatively you can just make a world that looks and sounds nice, it's in your hands.
**
Compo version you can evolve as far as birds (fauna) and trees (flora). Control is the mouse.
I've searched for bugs for the last couple of hours and it seems good to me. However, I have been awake for a long time and have been drinking beer so I may have missed something.
Anyway, hope you enjoy playing God!!

Really nice start to this. Enjoyed the pace of discovery, hope you carry on with it.
Thanks guys :) yeah my plan is to leave it alone for 2 weeks while I play some games and then develop it more from here. Really hacked in a lot of the code so it'll need a lot of work to build on it!
I love the concept, it feels a little too hard to steer at times, I hope you flesh it out in the future
I actually really enjoyed this even though it's more of a toy. Some goals and a clear ending would be great. Still not sure if I discovered everything or not. Maybe have a list of what you need to create and then tick it off when you discover them.
turnip - like a to do list? I think that's a great idea! If you got to birds by the way you've got everything I had time to put in :) and I'm definately developing it further!
Good start, maybe a bit slow (or perhaps I am the impatient type!). Innovative theme, definitely relates well to the given topic. Music nice and relaxing...
I really enjoyed this one :)
Very peaceful, kind of like one of the old Sim games. Just a little hard to tell what exactly you were doing. I accidentally killed a tree, and couldn't make another one. Still, nice work
I like this entry as well, especially because I had a similar idea when the theme came out :)
I dropped it because I feared people would not enjoy the game and leave it after a few minutes.
So I am glad to see that not only you did it, but that you also found some really nice ideas that keep it interresting, even when you believe you found everything.
I believe that with more content, this game could easily hook the player for a very long time.
Good job!
Liking this one a lot. You've managed to fit so much into such a small space. Made it feel like a world without needing to make it 'huge'. Love the organ.
Would love it if you could go the other way too, create thunder-storms and general devistation... or is that just wrong of me :)
Controls could use a little rework. Got all the way up to fish birds and trees. Nice mood.
I love this kind of game! Lot of fun, relaxing, this sand box if very good.
Just one point: it needs maybe more feedback when you make rain and wind.
let'S face it, every game where you play a supreme omni-potent being is fun - and so is your game :)
very relaxing, looking forward to upcoming versions
very nice game/simulation!
unfortunatly I don't have time to play it longer now, but i will catch up later.
It is defininetly worth it!
nice job!
My reaction: "hmm, okay, this looks pretty bori...wait, I can move the floor. up and down, up and down. oh I made wind? what do you mean..? whoa, grass appeared...let me see if I can grow a tree here and then just close and rate the fucker...planting trees, planting trees, nyanyanya, OH PISSING BLIMEY AN HOUR HAS PASSED!!!"
Dude, this is brilliant. You win the internets with this game. Cheers. 5/5 for everything.
Really fun, really relaxing. I got as far as birds, not sure if there is more there.
This is super cool. Loved the tiny fishes.
I didn't realize I could drag the land yet at first, I was waiting for a discovery to tell me I could. Also, I'd humbly suggest changing the title font, it seemed very out of place.
Nice little toy. Calming. It would be interesting if there were different evolutionary trees so you could keep playing around and discover something new just by doing different things. I like the music and the gesture interface. It was a little tough doing the elevation precisely, but it wasn't that bad.
One of the best concepts (and titles) that I've seen in the competition. Great little sandbox, would be nice to see it developed further.
I love god simulators. Good mechanics here, the only thing is that you need to make a game out of this concept.
I discovered that when I move the land down it also understands it as a gesture and starts to rain.
Really nice. I was very happy when the first tree grew. :) It's a very soothing and relaxing experience. Allowed me a nice break in my frantic ludum dare play session. Maybe you should keep working on it, add new possibilities, etc. I also believe this is a great concept for touch controls.
Really nice and relaxing gameplay. It's motivating to experiment on how to achieve the different effects. Some challenge in achieving even the basic things could add some additional potential.
Really amazing game! I love playing god :-) I felt so awesome discovering things. You should really continue working on it.

************** IF YOU NEED A TIP ***************
You can control, wind, rain and the height of the land. This is all you need, have a play around. Lakes currently only go 2 deep and also you only get 1 tree at once for free. Seeds don't spread themselves.
