500 years - imef - Jam Entry
This was normally supposed to be for the Compo. But I ended up wasting time and getting behind schedule for the Compo.
The game is a simulator of 1-4 tribes on a randomly generated Island. Depending on the tribes profiles and priorities, the simulation will happen differently. The tribes are all controlled by AIs. So as a player, you can either watch the simulation or, you can unleash disasters which can advantage some tribes and slow others.
500 years was made using game maker 8.1.
You may use/modify the source as you please.
-> modified the tiles.
-> randomized tiles.
-> disasters effects now vary depending on the profile of the tribe affected.
-> added pop messages when tribes reach a certain level in technology/warcraft/religion/politics
-> fixed the message boxes closing when pressing arrow keys problem.
-> added information on the main menu.
-> increased disaster radius.

I'll try to make a post-compo including as many new features.
idea box :
- when a tribe discovers a new technology, it will have an effect.
- tribes can expand.
- ressources can deplete.
- you can spawn a monster and the tribes will unite to kill it.
- sprites vary according to technology.
- add mouse control.
