Thanks lazybraingames! I am really happy with it. I hope you enjoy your extended play through :D
I really liked the idea of collecting literature and art in this game, and using books to kill reality TV stars. Throwing books while standing next to a wall to the right of the player character instantly destroys the book, though.
Really cool, if a bit short (assuming the game ends in that room with everything behind a BEAUTIFUL RED VELVET ROPE). I could see this being a fuller game, well done.
Very clever idea and use of the theme! Sound effects were a bit jarring but besides that, a very fun game!
@Kuulog - yeah, I discovered that book throw bug right after submission time ended :\
@Zed - Thanks - I think the rope is my favourite texture in the whole game, and it was the last one I added! hehe. The game definitely short. I wanted to make more levels, but ran out of time.
@NateNaterson Thank you sir! My one and only play tester also had this experience. Thanks for the feedback :)
Cool concept you have here, collecting books after an apocalypse. I thought reading the info text was a little tedious since the text window was so small. Funny that TV made you lose "health". Would like to see some gameplay benefit to collecting stuff rather then just healing health. Game ran very smooth though, pixel art was cool. Nice work!
@Gidaio and @tigerj - I am so glad to hear you liked it :D I had so much fun making it!
Heheh, funny stuff! I don't really understand why it's Richard Dawkins talking about culture, I mean, I know he's the "evolution rules and god is awful" guy, but he's not really that cultural, is he?
Oh, who cares? Great game!
Haha, this was hilarious! I cant comment on the audio because it did not work for me, but the graphics and gameplay were cool. I like how you used the theme.
@cacciatc Thanks! I was really pleased with how that bit turned out!
@Puzzlem00n Thanks! I picked Dawkins because of his "Selfish Gene" work, and how memetics was based on that. I wanted to incorporate more themes from The Ancestor's Tale as well (hence the rats) but didn't have time to elaborate as much as I wanted :) Thanks for playing!
@olav_st Thank you! :) I'm sorry the audio didn't work for you! Did you get any errors or anything, or was it just not producing sounds?
Great fun! Graphics are lovely, the controls have a really nice feel and the game was very polished for a 48hr compo! A bit of background music would have made it perfect.
Thanks berkano! Good suggestion about music. It was definitely on my to do list for the compo :)
Really cool game! Very fluent controls that made it a very fun and satisfying experience.
Weel I don't know if I've beaten it or not. It didn't show any ending just the old guy sad I got the things - there was a closed portal though in the room. It was so easy I don't know if it was really the end. :)
The only thing that's bad is that the books are hitting the wall when you are near them so you can't shoot. But other than that everything worked fine.
Thanks for playing and your feedback RawBits! :) I didn't make the ending very obvious, but you did make it to the end. A better ending and a fix to that book throwing bug ware on the top of my fix-it list for sure.

I LOVE the idea of a memepool. Good stuff! Running out of books and restarting the level kinda slowed me down, but I'll definitely give this one another play later ;)
