August 24th-27th 2012 :: Theme: Evolution
HEY KIDS! -> The X above the queue lets you delete blocks from it! Try it out!
I Finally finished a game for Ludum Dare! My game is a platform action puzzler where you help an old man get to the warp gate before the bomb strapped to him explodes. The Evolution angle is that the way you solve the level is not predefined, and a new level will 'evolve'(lol!) out of the blocks you place as you get Old Man Johnson closer to the exit. To play the game, just click the edge of blocks to place the next block in your queue. If you don't like your queue, click the X above it and start axing things. Have Fun!
Oh yeah, R restarts the level. Created with FlashPunk.

Great music, great mechanics. Kind of slow, but when the old man stopped to take a breather, we laughed out loud. =D
Great game! Really fun, the music is very good too! The guy guy stuck while I was playing the third level, just as I got a path for him, had a couple of the dark brown ladders stacked next to conveyors.
At first I thought it's a curling game because bombs look like curling rocks. :D Innovative game with nice pixel graphics!
I think this one is my favourite so far, it has a simple but interesting concept.
Awesome job man. Music kicked ass, which was suitable cuz so did the game. I didn't get very far (breakthrough) but I think that's because I didn't know you could clean-up your queue, I'll definitely come back and try it again with that in mind.
Really awesome game!! I promise, that I'll beat the game later! I like humor, music, visuals as much as gameplay. I impressed with animation and behaviour of oldman.
But I consider that theme is attracted with ears. Evolution is the qualitative improvement, and has nothing to do with variants of solves.
It's like... Lemmings. But you make the level instead of conquer it. Very innovative. I found it very hard though, as most of the time I'd just be placing tiles that I couldn't use under the bridge I'd be trying to build. When I had finally built a structure to complete level 2, I ran out of time for the poor guy to reach the goal. So it'd be cool if it was more restricted which tiles you could use, how many you have for each level and so on, and then have the player pick themselves in which order they want to use them, or something.
Lots of fun, I love this kind of graphics, the idea is cool and it's well executed, great game sir.
I really like the level building lemming idea. Maybe create an post compo version with more levels (level-editor).
Really great work.
loved it - and man, the music is awesome!
very well done
this has potential on mobile devices - try making an iOS or android build and you might earn a good amount of money with this
That was some crazy old man magic right there. The core mechanic of random pieces seems a bit hectic, but it works, for the most part. The music was exceptionally well done, email copied and you'll hear from me some day.
Great game. I stuck on second level, but music, graphics, gameplay. Great!
Look and sounds pretty neat. But why bother having random tiles that must be placed in a fixed sequence when it's easy to dispose of them? I found myself spending too much time disposing of tbe bad tiles rather than solving interesting puzzles.
So awesome!!! Great idea! For some reason this game reminds me of Gyromite for NES.
I didn't really understand how to play, even after reading the description but that could just be a problem with me :P Loved the audio though!
Aaah! It's crazy and strange and hard, and strange. I like it though!
