by jozanovic - 48 Hour Compo Entry

Hello Everyone. I am new. Not only to the tool (Gamemaker Lite) I used to make this game, but also making games in general. I made all the art in MS Paint and the Gamemaker in-game editor. I made the music and sound effects using the Korg-DS and edited in Audacity. And I will testify that I did all this in the last 48 hours. I did this because I want to get into game design professionally and thought this would be a great experience.
The game takes place in the primordial ooze as you are always climbing out of it. You have to eat to evolve. But if you eat too much by the time the Darwin timer counts down you will still evolve but not properly. There are three levels, and one extra level for improper evolution.

For a first game it's really good, but it has some problems. It gets repetitive very quickly, it's way too hard to avoid the enemies (unless I'm doing something wrong) and 3 minutes per level (at least the first one is at most 3 minutes) is a bit too much. But, as I said, for your first game it's very good.

Good game. Had to quickly mute the audio because people in my office probably thought my computer was dying of a heart attach haha.

The evolutionary goal is to high. When you know you have to go to 470 ans see the first bonus add 3 to your score... Dodging the red bugs is difficult with this size, but I think the fact you rotate while moving is a good mechanic you should stick at.

Good execution.. nice rotation mechanic. You should provide the source code as per the rules :)

Good fun! It is a bit infuriating to lose right at the end though, after 3 minutes of dodging.
