Ok, thanks for the comment! It can be confusing: it isn't a loading screen - it's a story introduction, You should pass by it by pressing any key.
And about warnings: I really don't know what is wrong. I'm using known free hoster cba.pl and avast has never given me any notifications.
Please contact me if You are still having problems!
Quiet hard to play, but fun.
It seems that even with more space occupied than the red, it's count as less.
I found it hard to understand - I never really understood how to play.
I liked a lot of the artwork, especially the way the little blobs inside the green mas jiggled around.
After about 10 attempts and reading the instructions twice, I still have to get the logic of the controls. Cells just expand by themselves, and clicking seems to have little to no effect on their progression. Not sure how, but at some point I managed to end with most of the first level surface, yet I only got a score of 49%.
Props for the nice intro and the pretty cool graphics, but I couldn't really enjoy the gameplay itself!
Controlling the blob is hard, I think I semi-understand it but still only managed to get 49% (that looks like more than half of the map).
It seems some cells have a 'growing' (more accurately 'moving'?) direction - horizontal or vertical. If you click in the same column as a cell, it toggles the direction it grows. Blank cells with at least two neighbours of the same colour grow automatically, but slower. Blank cells with two neighbours of each colour don't grow. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
I agree, the percentage seems off. Maybe there are other factors?
I did read the instructions, but I couldn't figure out how to influence the outcome of the game. Nice graphics though!
There's no feedback on what you're doing and if you're doing right or wrong, making it quite difficult to understand. You put a lot of efforts in concept and art, though, so it's quite a fine piece.
Thank You for your comments! I know I've messed up with the gameplay a bit. Also the score doesn't work well. But, since I'm not supposed to enhance it, I have to leave it as it is. After 2 weeks I'm planning to post the updated game. I've also added some features to the gameplay.
Uh. No idea how to win, even on the easiest difficulty. It seems to grow more or less the same every time, and the instructions are no help. The intro story is also extremely long. Seems like it'll be very cool, but I just couldn't figure it out.
I think I understand the rules, and I'm pretty sure on more than one occasion, I've ended the first arena with much more than half the field controlled. Yet, it still tells me I have 49 or 47%. Good sound effects, and an interesting concept.
I couldn't get the controls to impact the gameplay but good job with the graphics and background story.
As others have said, it's really hard to get a sense of whether what you're doing is having any effect, or how the scoring system works. My only other feedback would be that if you're going to have such a text heavy intro sequence you should get your copy proofread by a native English speaker. Awkward grammar is the best thing for killing atmosphere.
Yeah, sorry for grammar. I was trying to do everything by myself, without any help. Will try harder next time.
And, in case You didn't know: You can bypass intro by clicking the Esc button.
I read the instructions but couldn't really figure out what to do. I was able to get more mass than red but it still said I lost. The graphics were really nice though and the concept is good.
I agree with the others, was a little difficult to understand the gameplay, but the graphic and the idea was very nice! =)
Thank You all for voting!!! You gave me also a nice feedback in comments, I appreciate that!
I didn't expect to see such high votes! Especially for audio, taking into consideration that I didn't manage to make a music theme. This is a great sign for me to start working harded :)
I'm trying to make this game at least playable. I WILL make a post here about a post-compo version, just didn't want to mess with it while You was still voting.
Thank You again and See You on next LD!
