August 24th-27th 2012 :: Theme: Evolution
A short visual novel made with Ren'py that has 2 bad endings and 2... endings.
Somewhat based off of the Japanese folk story, "Tsuru no Ongaeshi," also known as "The Crane Wife."
In "Inu no Ongaeshi," you play a lonely freelance writer, if, with your lack of motivation, you can even call yourself that. One morning, you meet an injured dog in the forest- rather, a dog girl. A magical, evolving, speed-writing, food-conjuring, future seeing dog girl.
Good luck with that.
More of a story than it is a game, in how I approached writing it and how it plays. (Hence the term visual novel.) Unfortunately, I don't actually like the plot as a story; it feels a bit cliche. Forgive me. ;;;

I can't wait to try this game! But when I follow the OS/X link, Google Docs says I don't have permission to access this item...
emotional story. Interesting take, to do a choose-your-own-adventure... very nicely done.
Very interesting concept. Although, the story was quite long at points and hard to keep following.
OH MY GOD. That was incredible. The quality of your writing is outstanding, even more so that you're only 14! It's incredibly smart and funny. The ending is beautiful. I got ending 1. I looked over your source to make sure (I'm a horrible person!) and it seemed like I didn't really miss out on anything in the game.
Great work. I hope to see a lot more from you!
Brilliant! I loved the game. I tried to get all the endings. Cheers!
This is a brilliant piece of writing. I even had to get all of the endings, which never happened to me before :-) You're really good at this and you should continue writing.
Bravo! The Crane Wife influence is evident, but you've taken story more seriously so far than anyone else I've seen. Compelling to finish.
Wow, definitely the most original game I've played so far. I like how you combined pictures with text, and the story was well written. Actually reminded me a bit of The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle by Murakami for some reason (stray animals and strange women). Would have liked to have a little bit more control of the dialog/story, but overall was a nice experience. Well done!
I'm impressed by your writing and how polished this project is. However the dialogue went on for too long without any control from the player... There were many times where I'd have liked my character to have behaved differently. It felt a bit like a linear story with a few token options tacked on. Nonetheless, good work.
I loved this! The mood, text, backgrounds, sound effects. I got all the endings. I tried to make a visualnovel some years ago, but i never finished it.
Nice work!
Interesting to say the least, but I think you kind of have to be into the whole fur thing. Otherwise, it was well written and I thought filtering photos was a good way to get art done quickly. I would have liked more options to interact, however.
Good work.
I really liked the story. I got Bad Ending #2, but will most likely play it again to see the good ending. I wish there were more choices. You did a great job scenes and sounds.
The game is great! I really liked it.
But I wanted to stay with the dog girl... :(
This game was not fun. But it was engaging. It was brilliant and very interesting. Except it was more like a book, not a game. Yes, I understand the term 'visual novel.'
That was really pretty. Quite well-written, good graphics but as someone previously commented, I'd have liked more choice. There are some things I actually felt myself getting angry about, when they happened (particularly the ending - I got ending #1). Please consider going further with this, and writing in more choice.
A mother who jokes about getting a pet? I don't think my mom would have approved :)
Anyway lovely story, maybe a new york best selling ;)
I enjoyed this.
There's a bug, where the game displays "Dearest %(name)s" instead of using the actual name.
I played four times to get all the endings. I like how all of them are sad :')
Loved it! :) It's one of the few games I've played to the end. In fact, I played it more than once, to get a different ending (didn't discover the saving system the first time I played :/)

Heads up, Google Drive says I don't have permission to download the OS X or Windows builds.
