August 24th-27th 2012 :: Theme: Evolution
So, this is the result of our first participation in the Ludum Dare game jam. The game is a shooter with microscopic evolution of single-celled creatures, called allels, or something. We liked the final result because the gameplay was very fun and frenetic, and the theme "evolution" was very present: evolve to survive. The survival of their species depends on how much you evolve. It was a fun work made by just two guys, that's it.
To play Allel, use WASD to control the character and shoot everything that moves using the mouse button.

Cool game, I always love robotron/geometry war type games - in fact my entry is the same. The only thing that needs fixing is you really need autofire, which is ironically is the same thing I should have added to my own game:)

Good game. And good playing around theme. But so fast gameplay for me... but very addictive. Good job, man!
Great game, very well balanced and very good looking. I liked the fact that the enemies can also absorb power-ups, it adds a lot of depth to an otherwise simple game.
The only criticism I have is that pressing the mouse button repeatedly is very unconfortable (not to mention it's bad for our health, and for the mouse >_>), if you could fire continuously by keeping the mouse button pressed, this would be a 10/10 game (I'd definitely play it again if you change that!)

Impressive twin-stick-shooter! Love the presentation, from the graphics to the sound.
One minor quibble is the pick-ups looking very similar to the enemies. You aren't naturally inclined to pick them up. I also believe enemy-ai could've gotten more self-growing itself, that would be a lot of fun :)

Cool game, i enjoyed playing it even if the difficulty is a bit frustrating (especially the annoying sound when you lose an evolution :p)
Nice game. I like the mechanic, but I don't know why it runs so slow... It was barely playable for me :/
When you are 4cells and fire 4 balls I guess that their powerattack is less than when you are bigger and only throw one ball, isnt it?

Fast paced and fun!!! OMG my hands are sore with playing (but in a good way). Simple concept (sometimes those are the best) executed well. Your proposed autofire addition would be awesome! Well done!
the framerate seemed a bit jerky to me for an arcade game. i thought the sound was pretty good, and the swirly background added a nice bit of atmosphere.
