August 24th-27th 2012 :: Theme: Evolution
Hey guys! We would like to present you our second game created for Ludum Dare Jam. Powered by Crafty, it is smooth to play and easy to enjoy ;-) Darwin is watching you.
Instructions:
To win you have to hide your white player. To do so, move it to a place in between four tiles that matches with the pattern your player consists of. If this place is not arranged yet, you can pass items to slide the traces and modify patterns. When an enemy has found its place time runs out faster. Before the round ends, make sure your pattern matches at least with two or three tiles you are placed on. After each round Darwinci eleminates one of the least hidden players. Get through the four rounds to win the game.

Yeah, like marudziik said, more instructions, please!
I really liked the sounds of movement and the song :)
gotta agree with marudziik, at first i didn't know what to do, then i found the concept very interesting
gotta agree with marudziik, at first i didn't know what to do, then i found the concept very interesting and kept playing
It was hard to find out what to do but I considered it as an "additional puzzle" and eventually won :) Also, It has neat graphics.
I love the idea, very original, but sometimes it felt a little unfair. Otherwise the art and music are perfect, great game overall :)
The visual design is both aesthetic and thoughtful--I like the way you conveyed information. Great background music too, love the growls, drums, and squeaky sound.
Had to read the comments to work out what I was actually supposed to be doing - after that, seemed pretty cool. Could do with being more frantic - give us less time. Matching three seems to be a sure-fire way to win, so after that you sit there waiting. Could be more fun with maybe some multiplayer and the ability to shove other players - maybe more frequent changes of the board?
This is a rough diamond. keep making this level of games. this is awesome.
I really like this game. I don't really like the way to move tiles and the evolution theme is too subtle but the concept is really awesome !
While the mechanics are really cool and could lend themselves to a fun little puzzle game, the randomness is pushed too far in my opinion. The enemies never try to blend in, the push powerups that appear don't seem to help or hurt anyone specifically and just appear for now reason, and my character's pattern is randomized.
Maybe in later levels there could be shoving? So that even if you find a place it isn't necessarily safe to stay there? Or at the least making the characters able to shift pieces around at will (with either a limited supply or by cooldown).
I don't know, it was fun but it just felt too... out of my hands. Most of the time I could match 2 and still win because the enemies didn't find their matches.
Please develop this more! I can see it becoming a really great and strategically satisfying game :)
A really nice and rather intuitive minigame! I liked it! There is a small bug, however - whenever a new level starts, the game doesn't rate your hidden rating at the starting position, apparently. It's not a big thing, but I thought I'd mention it! :D
Nice game, the gamplay is very innovative to me. Art and sfx are great. Maybe add more levels and difficulty because it's kinda easy.
Innovate, good graphics and audio. Could have expanded gameplay by having more control over the tiles (I could not figure out other than collecting the items)
It took me some time to figure this one out! It looks like a finished game and it is fun for awhile, but I don't see much you can add to it... Anyways, nice graphics and nice sound.
Awesome idea. It was pretty luck dependent. On the first play I weren't able to hide completely in any level. On the second play I immediately found a suitable place to hide in each level.
I like the graphics and sound a lot.
played smooth, haven't seen a puzzle game yet in this competition and the idea of a survival of the fittest is clever. Sound and graphics excellent. The indicators on the side are very informative (in fact you canalmost play it without looking at the playing field), but I didn't notice them at first. I didn't find the collecting of items very useful, but thats just me. Very good game.

The only thing I might pick at is that I needed more instructions than the intro screen.
However, the game is so appealing, I sticked to it, until I figured I'm supposed to find the place with pattern best matching my own (to hide, I suppose - and that's what the 'hidden' meter is for). When the time goes to zero, or when any of the guys finds it's place perfectly, the guy with the least matched place looses. That's how I managed to win, anyway. :)
The music is perfect. It's a great entry, overall.
