I changed a line of code and put a web version :)


I made this one alone in 48h :)
The only reason I'm not participating in the compo is that I used some free photoshop brushes for my game. I kinda thought it was allowed but I should've taken a better look at the rules.

It was fun nevertheless!

I'm practicing my drawing so I can compete next time!

I posted the game here 3 minutes before the time limit, so you can imagine my rhythm at the time XD

And it's a single line of code to change that!

As far as I know brushes are ok to use cause they are essentially tools.

I enjoyed the weird art! It was fun, and unique!

The bats are a bit hard to beat though, and it's hard to skip over the intro :(

Looks really promising, but I just can't bring myself to sit through the opening each time I die (if not for the lack of skipping, but the flashing lights give me a headache). A real shame because I like the look & feel of this. :/

Alright, so I did this minor correction (I changed from Application.Loadlevel("first_scene") to Application.Loadlevel("hell") and that's pretty much it :)

Hope it brings a different perspective!

I had fun playing, loved the mood, art, sound.. all high marks there! I would have liked to see more of the evolution theme come out. I hope you add more after LD I'd be interested in seeing how it turns out.

I really love the music in this entry and the way it blends with the art style. It makes this a very special piece, even though the gameplay is very minimal.

Wow that is one trippy %$#! game! Awesome dude so weird but so cool. Only feedback is that maybe the final boss isn't so tricky, or perhaps have a waypoint so you don't have to go through the dialog every time.

Yeah, at first I was planning at least two levels, but by the time I got the hang of the mechanics it was sunday afternoon!

I should've worked on a "skip cutscene", but again, that's what I could do in 48h :)

I'm getting convinced on continuing this game due to positive feedback!

I didn't really get how I lost, since it always happened seconds after I had been hit the last. I liked how the player's character said the same things in the same order both times.

On Mac OS the game freezes once I enter the house. The same thing happens when using the Unity Web Player. What I saw and hear before the freezes looks good though.

Really like this game! And I agree with Andrew, I think free brushes are fine. I really like the presentation and the punch combo mechanic is very compelling. My main criticism is that I was confused on how to move at times.

Great visuals / art style, fun writing.

Sorry to hear about the brush issue. Some remarks in case you keep on working on the game: The fence is hard to see. During the fighting sequence (in between bat attacks)I got some strange game overs and could not really progress far into the game (Webplayer, tried re-loading, did not help).

Yes, the fence is hard to see :/
It took me a while to finish it on photoshop, but when I realized it I was doing the face at the same layer as the soil, so I just left it like that :P

Visual and sound productions are nice. Gameplay lacks a lot of visual feeback like screen shakes when you're hit or you kill bats. Collision detection could also be A LOT MORE forgiving ^^ Nice work anyway !

I used some brushes (which I'm gonna link in this post tonight) with the drawings done! I can't draw for shit XD
I just colored the pictures and used them!
And that's why I ended up as a jammer instead of a competitor :)

Same as what with everyone is saying. The mood, graphics and humor are great. Really hard though. Fun? Not so much, although I did plow through the game just to get to see what other awesome things the game has in store for me.

I really admire the art of this game, its sound design, and humor. I'd like to see more of such surrealists dialogs, and honestly I find genius most of your artistic choices I can't explain, such as the way abbadon's voice is displayed. Oh and i'm a total fan of the attack, this game left me stunned.

Both the web and mac builds crash on me every time I enter the door in the first scene :(

Tried playing it on my macbook. I'll give it another go when I get home to my desktop in a few days.

Absolutely love art direction, music and writing. However, pre-boss checkpoints and way to skip dialogues is a must. Please release a post-compo version, I badly want to finish this game :(.

Hey, guys!
Yeah, I apparently can't find where it crashes on mac, but it does at the second scene. I'm very very sorry for that!

The idea was to develop something like "King of Dragons" where you LVL up at the end of each stage, so you can notice that when you face the boss, your appearance changes and your force hands change into diabolical symbols!

Yes, I planned the 'plot twist' at the second playable stage, but I was kinda reckless with my time!

I'm seriously considering doing a post-compo version :)
