August 24th-27th 2012 :: Theme: Evolution
All work completed by me, of course. Following theme, enemies evolve after checking out the stats of the 'helper' bots spawned around space station in middle. Though not listed, upgrades cost 25 funds each.
[Edit] Sorry for the delay everyone!!!!! Work sucks and took me some time to get back to coding. I've done a bug fix that deals with the 25/5 bug, keeps the spawn rate to at lowest 1 per second, and adjusts the amounts you receive for helper upgrades. I'm going to be doing a deluxe version with the company I work for, Jacob's Ladder Entertainment. I'll keep you guys posted!

I think you may have some bugs in the game. First, everything costs 5 instead of the stated 25 above; but it looks like you have to have at least 25 in funds for the purchase to take effect. It is possible also possible to go negative, or make a purchase that has no effect (if funds is less than 25, you are still charged to the upgrade, but the stats in the top-left corner are unchanged). I found that I could wait until the funds were above 25 then buy and upgrade every second or two and get to the point where the helps overran the screen pretty quickly.
Agree with some of the other posters, there are definitely some bugs in the upgrades.Thought it was a really cool concept, but i was able to get a helper spawning every frame within a minute or two. It might be a good idea to set some boundaries on the upgrades, as well as fixing the bugs. Really love the idea and look though!
Nice little game. There are still some bugs which were already mentioned. Except for that, the helper ships are shoot too slow (not sure). I'm having problems with "Helper Speed" and "Station health" upgrades(I press button, nothing happens). You should check them.
I think dalbinblue pretty much found all the problems that I did. I spammed spawn rate for a while, then damage. After a bit of that, I had like 50 robots on the screen that were defending against the meteors, no sweat. Fun; would like to see it developed more!
I loved this game, especially the negative spawn rates: http://d.pr/i/EOEO
(The negative funds as well, of course)
Pretty fun! It definitely needs a lower bound on the spawn rate upgrade. Couldn't resist dropping it down to near-zero ;).
The bug it this for upgrading make it very easy but it is fun, good work
I find the window to be too big for me; I'm losing some important information at the bottom.
Aside from bugs and glitches, this is not a bad game idea.
You still get charged for upgrades even if you can't afford them.
neat music. as you figured out, the spending is pretty buggy- your funds can go negative hehehe. with the incorrect amount being deducted there isn't much challenge.
The bugs basically prevent the game from being played as intended. Those costs problems should as such be fixed as quickly as possible.
Interesting little game, but the bug needs to be worked out because it is way too easy as it is right now.
Too bad that your funds can go <0, even in the post-combo bugfixed version.
infernet89: I'll take a look at that when I get a chance. The funds check for buying _should_ keep that from happening however.
Nice concept and I like the helper models and how they roll around, the fact they can be a bit stupid doesn't matter as they are robots. I like how the physics means they can push away the asteroids but the game has a lot of bugs (negative funds, values not rounding properly, enemies can't hurt the station) but if you start polishing the game it could be really good.
a pretty easy game. started it and then had to go to the bathroom, came back and had 10000 funds and my drones were covering the screen and i still had 100 hp. otherwise a interesting concept obviously needs some balancing in the game mechanics good job for what you have though.
Was pretty good fun although a bit easy. Felt like a good prototype version. Definitely carry on working on it.
