EvolovE

by encore - 48 Hour Compo Entry

EvolovE is a minimalistic shoot-em-up made in Python using Pyglet, music made in Famitracker and art assets made in Paint.net. The resources folder needs to be a subfolder of the executable or else it will not function properly :\

Quick programmer's graphics FTW.

As a note, I believe the executable may require the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package due to the way python and Py2Exe works. It can be found here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29

EDIT: Controls are arrow keys to move and Z to shoot.

Could be that my computer is just too old, but when the 3-shot-enemies appear, it falls down to 1-2fps really fast.

bit rough and gets most of its challenge out of it's slow-ish controls. would have preferred more speed, but what's there is nice

It slows down when more enemies appear.

I think more sound effects would have done well. For this type of game, the graphics were more than adequate; it reminded me of Space Invaders: Infinity Gene.

Heya. Yeah, the game slows down rather badly due to A) Poor programming, and B) python being naturally slow. Next time I make a game, I'm aiming for it to be much faster ^_^
