August 24th-27th 2012 :: Theme: Evolution
Okay, so, you are a orange cat that walk with arrow keys. You attack 133 blues cats(and get attacked) by running into these . You level up, and can upgrade by clicking the stats in the status screen which is available by pressing enter.
You can also eat steaks, and walking up the stairs so that you can fight stronger ennemies .
I didn't do a separate download for the source, because it's basically renaming the .love in a .zip.
If you want the source, then rename the ld24-133v1.love in a ld24-133v1.zip, then unzip it.

Kind of cute actually. Can you finish the game? Or does it go on forever?
Don't really see evolution at play here.
The game don't have any end.
As for the theme, I decided to use the sum(133),of the letters of the theme (e-v-o-l-u-t-i-o-n) translated into numbers (5+22+15+12+21+20+9+15+14).
I don't really see the evolution, but heck this game is great! The camerawork is really clever!
Nice game! I was low on health most of the time so I had to raise my health stat on each level up so I wouldn't die. After a while and 133 kittens later, It got repetetive. But up to that point it was actually quite nice. Good job!
Good job with the map reveal mechanics and the fast-pace cat action is fun.
Hehe, I spent way too much time battling kittens. It was a fun game, and felt really polished.
It's like a little rogue-like on fast forward - great mechanics, this has loads of potential. Very polished, not quite fitting the theme but a great job overall.
Great, an 48-hour roguelike that's actually pretty good! And it looks very finished too. I'd like to see a more extensive version with more monster types.
Brilliant! Really really like the camera system, nicely done. Graphics are excellent as well, and really fit the game.
Combat's a bit confusing, sometimes I get hit, sometimes I hit but dunno what's the criteria for that. Other than that, this is what we all should be about. Ten kitten points!
Surprisingly fun for what it is :) I can't seem to survive the second level though :( As far as I can tell there's not any advantage to taking on the enemies one on one? (maybe that's where I'm going wrong)
@shinD : It's random.
@Ragzouken : you can use the food to regain health, and
you can also press enter to access the status screen and upgrade your character's skills.
Loved the sound, but didn't liked so much the gameplay.. After a while it's just walking in a maze with some annoying cat who die hitting you..
Nice to see a löve game. What about doing a löve webplayer version => https://github.com/ghoulsblade/love-webplayer
I like that you made procedural levels. The music is fitting because it is also procedural. it took me a try before i found out what was a good way to play this. The way the game started looked nice, maybe you could do more effects.?
I liked the feel of the game. I felt dizzy looking at your menu screen and at the transistions from level to level. I thought the fighting system was rather funky, as in there wasn't any, but i found it fun to level up and stand my ground. The farthest i made it was upgraded to level 7 on stage 6 or 7 i forget which one of the stages i made it to. :)
Unfortunately I couldn't play it. It gave me an error message: "Could not create canvas."
I wished I had a little more control over the combat. If the cats were a little less frantic and were a little better graphically distinguished from the background, this game would have been a bit more fun to me.
Besides that: a really solid and cute game. The graphics are nice.
If that game had an end, I would have kept playing :) The music becomes annoying after a while and the dungeon is a little monotonous. The game itself was fun, the kittens are great and the zoom effect on startup rocks! With a real ending or some more variation this could be one of the best entries.

would it be possible to make this into an executable?
