I worked really hard on this, and learned a lot. I wish the quality was better, but I spent too much time learning my environment and not long enough coding for it.

Pretty ambitious, I think you bit a bit more than you could chew. Glad you tried :D
Thumbs up for the effort, dude! Thanks for checking out my game too!
Looks like it just needed some more time. Not really much depth in anything, but that's not really the point of all this. Keep going!
At first I couldn't tell what to do and thought I was the fleshbag, not the robot! I made it through 4 battles with armies and then it crashed in a spectacular flash of gray and white!
What did you use to program this?
Keep learning so you can make something better next time! :)
Ludum Dare is excellent for learning new stuff so keep it up and please submit next time too :-)
More interaction would have been nice, but at least you know your environment now. I hope you work on this some more!
I like the structure of the different screens for world select, enemy select, and fight. Next time even one or two simple "feedback" effects like screen flashes or enemies shaking when hit would draw the player in more.
Thanks for your kind comment, it's the first feedback I get on my game - and it feels great.
I think you should continue working on it, 48 hours is a short amount of time, especially if your learning something new.
Sounds like this was a good learning experience for you, so here's hoping you'll take things to the next level next LD. Good effort though!
I understood the concept, and that is a strong positive when trying these games. Keep up the effort :)
This kept my interest through several battles, but the game crashed right before the end. I was hoping for some variety in the battlefield backgrounds or maybe a screen setting up the story.
I like how you have not just the core game, but also a map to move around! The stick figure outline could look a bit more robot-like, and more interactions and sounds would be nice. All in due time! Congrats for finishing a game!
If you had the capability to do this you will be able to do amazing stuff in the future. This game obviously is not the most engaging but it uses concepts you need that can be used for truly engaging games.
Good first effort, looking forward to seeing your game for the next Ludum Dare. Keep at it!
Web entries are good: easy to play :) Good effort, although I couldn't figure out how the game related to the theme I'm afraid.

i'm glad you tried. i can't say i see any connection to the theme, though.
