This game could be great, but the way everything moves is just annoying. Everything is jerking. It wouldn't be hard to make it all smooth.
But anyway I like this game and it's quite fun.
It has good upgrade system. All game fit in evolution theme very good
But only if movements were good...
And I feel like there have to be music and sounds.

There didn't seem to be any challenge to the game, just pick up everything and upgrade to the maximum score below the goal before passing it. I got to near 20,000

This is awesome for your first game! You should see my first game. It was really really bad lol. Good animations. Try to keep fish and other guys near the center, they seemed to like the edges. Great job on the upgrades btw. Next I think you should work on making the character move continuously, like Mario, instead of in lock step. Also you can go here:

And create some sound effects. Don't let all the buttons scare you. Just hit the buttons on the left, then export to wav and ...anyway you'll figure it out. Good work

The game started off very slowly, and it didn't really progress at all (very, very little). The evolution mechanism you have in place results in players having to play the same "level" twice, with the second time being even easier because of the upgrades. This coupled with effectively no difficulty level resulted in a bit of a grind, in which you didn't really know what you're aiming at or when the end is going to be.

Your animations were great in my opinion, and the "tadpole" player character was charismatic. :P There were a couple of stray pixels left on the animation sprites, which were a bit unfortunate, since they're such an easy thing to erase.

I figure the game was supposed to have sound since there are some audio dlls, but I didn't hear anything except a high-pitched whine.

Overall with a bit of progression this game could've been a lot better, but I enjoyed playing it for a while (went to 140k just to see if there's some kind of finish :P). Not a bad effort if this was your first LD game!

Far to easy.
Graphics not smooth.

And in the menu you forgot that the user can change the window size ;|

Movement was a bit too slow. Next time try adding a couple sound effects, BFXR is very easy to use. I liked the amoeba sprites.
