August 24th-27th 2012 :: Theme: Evolution
Game by Jonathan Gover, Duncan Stead and Ricky Willis!
Clear out the bacterial infection! Evolve and absorb the antibiotic resistances and abilities of the bacteria you destroy by splicing their DNA into your plasmid!
Use WASD to move and QE to roll, and the mouse to look around.
Click to shoot toxins.
Hold Space to scan objects.
When you have collected some plasmids from destroyed bacteria, press TAB to open the upgrade menu and splice DNA. There are three sections of the plasmid that can be upgraded, giving different abilities in each. Your current abilities are displayed in the bottom left.
Rotate the plasmid to see which DNA segments you have available - they appear as red strands of DNA in a box. You can click and drag them from the box down onto the plasmid ring, and drag DNA segments from the ring back up into the box.
For an example of this in action, see this video:

If you have more than one spare section of DNA, you can click the arrows at the top of the screen to cycle between them.
The current spare DNA segment shown in the box can be destroyed and converted into health if you are running low, by clicking the button next to it.

Ha, this is great! Gameplay is punchy, and exploring the body is kinda fun.
Love the Deus-Ex-y-ness of it all. Not just the menu-screen, the music fits that quite well too :)
What kind of shader is that on the bacteria? It looks cool, but I couldn't figure it out yet.

The bacteria use a modified rim lighting shader to look like a surface EMG image - it's about halfway down this page: http://docs.unity3d.com/Documentation/Components/SL-SurfaceShaderExamples.html
The controls feel really good, and good DNA mechanics! I would have liked to see a bit more the effects but nice concept!
yay i beat it. fun way to sort of upgrade, have to arrange the cubes accordingly. nice job with unity!
Well done for beating it, it's difficult to eradicate them all!
Valve pumping was awesome. Great work! Should be Magic School Bus licensed.
This looks cool, unfortunately you only released the web player version so I cant play it in Linux.
Cool game! Liked the quivering environment, looked and sounded great. I did struggle to get my head around the upgrades and got lost going back on myself a bit.
The drag don't seem work with me but its a really good job, really good immersion !
I also could not get the drag to work. Gameplay was fun, and being able to shoot the plasmids further away from me was hilariously frustrating xD
Also, like the look and feel. Its Deus Ex HUD meets Splice graphics meets Descent gameplay ;)
Super cool!
The veins/tunnels could look better, but the cells look awesome!
Great game, the location in the veins with all the blood cells and bacteria is fascinating, more games need created like this!
Nice! I like the gameplay and music. Upgrade menu doesn't seem to work though. (Can't drag DNA onto the plasmid?)
Doesn't seem to work. I get the menu screen (with the awesome bacteria) but the start button doesn't work. =(
Game is great. Good job. But bacteria supposed to heal me in some case? That supprised me the most:)
Wow that looks amazing. You guys really know how to make it look like the real thing. Good sound and music. The game is tight as well. Good menus, intuitive controls and steering. Except the dragging of DNA, that took me a moment to figure out.
