April 20th-23rd 2012 :: 10 Year Anniversary! :: Theme: Tiny World
A pretty straightforward arcade-y item collection game. Pretty proud of this one -- whole thing came together nice and smooth, and well under the deadline. :-D
I didn't do a preloader, but it's so small it doesn't really need one.
Update: I've made a projector, so if you want a Windows standalone, it's all yours. I've toyed with making an Android version, but can't quite get it working. We'll see if I can solve it.

Space donuts!!! Though sometimes there were to many donuts and less other food D: Nice game :)
This is actually packed with features, the mechanics are smooth and predictable, and the writing is funny.
Good stuff Darien!
Thanks, everybody! Glad you're all enjoying it. Also: too many doughnuts? What madness is this?? ;-)
This is awesome. :D At first I thought it was a typo for desert planet, and laughed out loud when it loaded up.
Good work on this! One tiny criticism: Align the text on the instructions page along a line so it's easier to read. Once again, good job!
Collision boxes are a annoying and the fact the invincibility gives no indication its about to run out get me killed a lot.
Other than that a great fun game. Really enjoyed it, with a light touch of humour :)
Nice game, you should add more feedback for the invincibility, when it's activated and not :)
Mmm donuts! Very nice game and the music was particularly cool :)
I'm missing some sounds of eating donuts ;) The game would be fairer on square instead of a rectangle though.
The rectangular window is intentional -- my thinking was that a wider field of vision to the sides would give the player a great impetus to keep rotating all the time rather than staying still.
Thanks for the feedback! Perhaps I should flash the player sprite to indicate powerups are about to run out.
Would of been great if you could see above you more! otherwise, really nice
This does play smooth and I like the mood. Dodging the meteors is not so bad, but I move so slowly around the world that the other half of it is basically irrelevant to me -- if a dessert appears there, by the time I can make it all the way around, it will have definitely crashed. Maybe there should be some slower-moving desserts too?
Hi-score: 85
First, a response to your comment: I loved monkey fight growing up. That probably was a huge subconscious influence.
Now, to your game.
My favorite part is the music. Yes, I know it's a 10-second loop that has literally 5 notes, but it still sets the mood perfectly. The donut sound was a little delayed though (people complained about this on my game as well, so if you find a cure let me know).
The gameplay was fun for a bit, but it was slow/simple/predictable enough that I didn't feel the need to play a third time. The first time through I tried to eat a comet.
And I second Tom7string's comment about the size of the world... very frustrating!
Hi guys! Thanks again for all the feedback. Just to let you know where I am right now: the Android port is up and running, and once I get the kinks out of it, I'm going to be adding a few more features (such as persistence across sessions, so your high scores don't reset every time you play), and then I'll do another balancing pass incorporating much of the feedback I'm getting.
Fun to play. Sound and music fit perfectly.
Congratulations for making a very polished game! :)

Quite fun, indeed!
