April 20th-23rd 2012 :: 10 Year Anniversary! :: Theme: Tiny World
Started off as a Yume Nikki fangame. Didn't turn out as I had hoped.
Arrow keys to move
Z/Enter to confirm/examime
X/Escape to bring up menu/cancel
F4/Alt + Enter to switch between Windowed/Fullscreen. Windowed should reduce any flickering.
If you get stuck, just keep examining things and then use the bed. Things will change when you sleep.
The game really gets going after you leave the house, so try and stick with it until then! I know it's rude to ask.
There's probably a lot of bugs so please let me know if you find any!
Made in RPG Maker 2003. Sounds in bxfr and audacity.

the "best" part of the "game" lies outside the house, so try and stick it through until you reach the town. big ask, i know!
Wow, pretty trippy. If it was meant to incite some sort of disorientation it worked! Nice atmosphere.
Invisible cognitive static is blocking me from progressing any further. At least that's what I think is happening. I also can't sleep in the bed anymore, and I only have access to the tv inside the starting room. At one point I was at the room with all the faces, then I talked to the ghosts. I went back to the main house and I'm stuck just outside the entrance.
Anyhoo, great job on the game! Really good mood. Great music and I'm really digging the art style. It all comes together perfectly. I would keep trying, but I spent 20 minutes on it already and I want to rate more games.
Interesting interpretation of the theme... Graphics aren't the best, but it's the thought that counts. I can't play it on Mac, but I like to think I take the time to at least rate what I can see of each game :)
@character: thanks for noticing! i've fixed the bug and will upload a new version later on.
I had a difficult time playing this.. mostly because of the very annoying noise being played. I also had a bit of trouble fitting through the passages at times (you had to be very exact).
I think I like it. It's very interesting in a trippy sort of way.
If you polished this up in the way of graphics, I'd play through quite a bit more. But as it is, for a 48 hour game, this is good.
I have to say, this is the only game where I cannot tell the difference between a bug, a feature and a spoiler. Well done!
I'm not sure if I won. I'm stuck after a long conversation (where they say the place creeps them out) and now my options are limited and I can't seem to progress further (if there is further to progress or maybe its telling me to leave the room on this side of the computer screen :) ).
@cantorfew: yep! that's the "ending". i wish i had more time to put a proper one in but i finished it with pretty much 10 minutes left on the clock.
@graytest: ah i think you mean the static area? yeah i kind of regret putting it in there. the house and the tv are part of a mechanic that i immediately scrapped and started in a new direction... but yet they remain...
Weird game, I kind of liked it but I'm also kind of terrified by it.
Wow, this game is weird. Definitely a nice atmosphere. I played long enough to use an item to see more stuff, but then I got stuck. though. Now I wonder where the story was meant to go after that...
Started in fullscreen mode, which was a huge turnoff, but since it's already messed up everything, might aswell play it now :(
What... what is this?
This is weird :D
..I have no idea what i'm playing... the TV... everything is wierd.... the house.... I walked through the walls... into a room via the exit... and ended up outside?
....Whaaaat? The soda machine... makes clones of me? Which.. ... disappear?
Alright, I'm out. I have no idea what I just played :D

Am I the only one getting a weird flickering when running this? Makes it incredibly hard to play.
Not familiar with the Yume Nikki franchise, but this was fun and really weird, I liked it!
@Fireslash sorry forgot to mention, playing in windowed mode (F4) should reduce or stop it entirely
Wow... hypnotizing. What just happened. I like it.
I think if David Firth were to make a Zelda game, this would be it.
i fixed the bug after sleeping in the ghost house, "should" work ok now.
The game was unplayable for me: graphics were corrupted and I got some violet flashing background.
To summarise: WTF? :)
Weird, trippy. I stopped once I got the device thingy and went to sleep after visiting the ghosts in the right house.
***I'm posting this on all non-browser games I bring up in an attempt to encourage folks to make browser games next time around. Do not take it personally.***
When hundreds of people make non-browser games, that means that, to play all of the entries, I would need to download hundreds of games to my computer. I typically use OS X, so Windows-only entries are particularly inconvenient.
Please consider making a browser game next time.
Really creepy game, not playing again until its light outside :(
Liked the graphics. It certainly gets a bit creepy but I liked it. The world looked huge to me, I don't know how you managed to design everything in 48h. Reminded me a bit of Silent Hill with the transitions to the TV/noise/distortion world.
I...think I'm inside of my tv?? :D I feel like I would have gotten more out of it if I was familiar with Yume Nikki. Really weird game! Sorta like it though, and it was engaging enough to keep playing it. Thanks!
"small world"! - I wanted to interpret the theme like that but couldn't think of a way to do it. I have no idea who Yume Nikki is but this game leads me to conclude they are nuts. Good job!
This is one of the best games I've seen so far in this contest. I think it's absolutely brilliant. The crudeness of the graphics work perfectly well with everything else. You've managed to make me feel completely fucked in the head - excellent work!
The static sound is very distracting, I had to turn the sound off completely.
Spent 15 minutes on it, had the best mood of any entry I've tried so far. The reverse music and the guitar tracks were very cool.
Very nice! Reminds me of Silent Hill. The music is very fitting and i enjoyed playing it$. Got stuck after speaking to the ghosts tho and couldnt figure out what to d next! :(
Oh great, I just played this before bed and now I'm going to have the most unsettling dreams of my life ;)
Fantastically creepy atmosphere, and I really liked the rough art style, particularly in the house with all the faces. I kind of feel like I've intruded into your subconscious... which I imagine is the effect you were going for. Nicely done.
I couldn't figure out how to leave the house, thebed seemed to add/remove symbols from the diary and the tv area was the same all the time. (The static was blocking the second door).
Spoiler me so I can finish it :)
@Andrew: you need to finish the tv area, there's a few tvs and the statics move in that area i think. once you get back to the house you should be able to progress. in the lower room, you can just walk around the doorway and "enter" the house to leave (the actual solution is to walk to the right until the screen repeats three times but i don't think there's any need to do that)
This game really has a strong YN vibe, but it doesn't looks like uboachan's ordinary YN fangame.
Really liked it.
It is pretty big tiny world! ;) It looks interestingly confusing. ;)
Wow, I think it's a pretty unique entry, specially once you leave the house! LOL Good work!
Wow I loved this. I got to the house with the ghosts, but I want to do some more reviews so I'll have to finish the rest later. Very immersive and intriguing. The mechanic of the 'cognitive static' was way cool. Awesome job.
