April 20th-23rd 2012 :: 10 Year Anniversary! :: Theme: Tiny World
Alright, so here's my jam entry. It was supposed to be a board game, but lack of time forbid developing it further.
Warning: this was produced between 10pm and 4am with 6 hours remaining before the jam ends. I was busy studying for exams all weekend so wasn't able to start earlier.
Needless to say, I wasn't able to realise my full idea for the game due to tiredness and late start :(
I had fun making the short audio loop, would have made more music tracks and some levels of play/decision making if time had permitted. Ah well, onto the next compo!

This seems to convey the opposite of the theme (Implying the world is a massive uncaring beast).
FireSlash, it's supposed to convey that each person actually lives in their own tiny world, oblivious to the larger world.
A strange thing.
I'm not sure if it's a "game".
Not much fun, but gives you an interesting perspective
I can't get it to play... just some cool audio that gives me a hint of something interesting to come...
It's not really a game yet, but it definitely has the beginnings of an art-game type of piece.
It's interesting but it's quite easy to understand that's a incomplete work. Hope u finish this one day :)
Knowing what it's like making a jam game because you missed the whole 48h ld i'd say it's a good effort, but you're really asking for a low score in the 'humor' category =)
On a mac: Heard sound, but it was just a blank white screen unfortunately!
Had some trouble running it in OSX/chrome.

Probably something on my end.
Depressing, not much of a game unfortunately. Although inspires to think about stuff, which is good :D
Hmm, perhaps a good point is made here, but the game (as you said) needs some major work.
Well, obviously this could use some more work, but I think I like what I'm seeing here...On the surface, it just appears to be another take on the game of Life. It'd be cool if the players realize what's going on right away, though, as they race to get from square to square accumulating points and only partway through the game you realize, "Oh... all these points I've been collecting, or goals I've been working towards in the game, really are not good, and they're having a negative impact on life"...catch my drift? Create something life-changing out of this! :D Thanks for providing a few minutes of thoughtful introspection in the midst of rating games!
Didn't really feel like a game since you couldn't actually control anything. It is kind of an innovative idea tho and I'd say it fits the theme well enough. It runs great and it conveys the message quite nicely. It's cool that you got something to submit in just 6 hours, and during THOSE hours even. Good job!
One of the most interesting takes on the theme I've seen so far. The mood is powerful and is quite well accompanied by the bgm. There's no much "gameplay" though. Perhaps it could be like a board game where you roll the dice, the character move to the corresponding cell and you display the (particularly depressing but eye-opening) facts.
It was just a blank screen for me with a music loop. The music sounded good though. I'm on an iMac.
You couldn't control anything, just like you can never control the events that you are portraying. We can't do anything about all these things, and your grid shows that by just having us go in a circle.
But, this is a game-creation competition, not a philosophy contest. It's not a game, it's a soapbox.
Good job in such a short space of time. Really to see something different and thoughtful. Now I'm just sad thinking about what's going on while I'm sat here playing games. If you're thinking of expanding this I'd like to see where you go with it! Also I thinked you've nailed the theme, I wish I'd been able to interpret it in a similar way.
A linear narrative about the isolationism and futility of human action... it could be quite a powerful idea but I think the realization of it falls short.
I know you were working with limited time and I know how much can get cut when the deadline approaches but I think that making it a single-button and totally linear experience undercuts the meaning of the game. Giving the user more actions to perform and having them all do more or less the same thing would have been more powerful because then you're saying that even with all the things you can do, it all boils down to doing the same meaningless and lonely thing.
At least, that's my take on it. I hope you can find the time to polish the idea :)
I like the message the game is trying to convey, but it would be nice if it were more like a game.
Interesting take on the theme, I also liked the board game idea. Sad that you couldn't have more time to make it more of a game...
Humourless and somewhat depressing. I can see what you were going for but the lack of actual fun made it more like a presentation on moral rights than an enjoyable game.
I really like how you interpreted the theme in an unusual way (while you live in your tiny world, there's all this happening outside)...
But I didn't find this game fun at all... >_<
You just keep walking and reading and... that's it... it lacked interaction, perhaps... (I read that you didn't have time, so... I understand...)
Hope next compo you can get yourself more free time. =D
I kept at it, hoping a good lap time would promote me into a racing league. Alas for the world.
The approach to the theme is nice and original, but there are missing bits and pieces all around. I wish I could'v seen a slightly more polished version.
ouch...i feel sad now...the beginning screen is kinda hard to read...The top row sound good to me right about now..

I'm not quite sure what you're doing here. It's pretty bad, whatever it is, sorry to say :(
Sounds like you have a cool base for a drinking game though.
