April 20th-23rd 2012 :: 10 Year Anniversary! :: Theme: Tiny World
In Super Planet Crusher Extreme you play as an unlikely anomaly in the space time continue-uhm. Hopping from planet to planet you aim to see as much of the tiny galaxy you are in as possible, and being a giant freak-of-nature you naturally destroy everything in your wake! How far can you go?
The point: Travel as far as possible though your tiny galaxy (tiny compared to you at any rate), the 3 arrows point to the nearest 3 planets, though there is no guarantee they will be in range.
Controls: click to travel to the star whose direction is closest to the direction (to the mouse) from the planet you at
I will post a link to the Windows Phone 7 version as soon as it passes market certification.

Ah, I will fix that as soon as I get home this evening (24 hours with barely any sleep didnt help the fact that I submitted as soon as I was done)
After installation of the XNA stuff, the game started but crashed immediately. I heard some hihats first though...
Weird gameplay. Should I just randomly press arrow? Is there any way to know if I'll land on a planet? Or do you have to remember which planets are already destroyed and avoid them? If no, you could make so.
does it have to be a .application? voting people don't like to have to install things just for them to play sth that they will stop after 5 minutes anyway (see that one posting with the graphs time/game). you should offer just an .exe, even better would be sth for osx and linux as well :/
Ive updated the description to (hopefully) be more helpfull, and put back the link for the .rar version (ie. no install)
As I used XNA you might need the redist for XNA 4.0 (the install manages that, but I linked it anyway, though this also means I can only support Windows/Windows Phone 7 (sorry guys)
Quite fun game although it was quite a bit of chance involved.
You should probably reduce the distance needed to "grab" a planet though, as I managed to lose while the player character was covering an entire planet.
I installed the XNA redistributable, but the game doesn't launch (I double click but nothing happens). This seems to be a problem with all XNA games, but since I don't see any error message, I have no idea what I can do to fix this. Sorry :(
As with all XNA4 entries, can't test because XNA4 crashes under WINE :/
I can't play it, it crashes before it starts. I've XP and XNA 3.2 - I can't update to 4 because then my installation with visual studio express won't work any longer. Sorry.
Crashes after starting. Can't run. Even after installing XNA, which I already had installed. Heard the cymbals for a bit the first time, but now it just crashes out with no action at all. Win 7 64 bit
It ran for me (got the zip) Just thought I mentioned it since other ppl had problems Cheers
It run fine. I downloaded the Windows(no install) and I'm on Windows 7.
Good thing you made a no-install version, it's easier to download and play.
I think the gameplay needs something else, maybe if you had a moving angle instead of predefined arrows and you decide when to stop it to launch your giant guy. Or maybe keep the arrows but control the strength of the impulse... I don't know :P
good luck :)
I'm having the same crash issues as the others, whether using the setup or the rar file. Win7 64-bit.
Couldn't run: windows 7 "Super Planet Crusher has stopped working" immediately after execution
Tried again on another computer - even worse result as before - doesn't run at all.
Hi!
I tested the game. You should focus more on gameplay, next time. Good games are all about meaningful decisions. The decisions made in this game aren't meaningful, because the player has not enough information (to choose the next planet properly). Just keep going, XNA is a nice framework and you got a nice start with handling user input and animation.
I made a tutorial about publishing XNA-games for Game Jams. If you want to have a look - if you got feedback, just send me an email (page's bottom you find my address).

Bravo for finishing something playable, too bad it is missing the fun element. As my score went up I didn't feel accomplished. When I died I didn't feel connected to the outcome. It is sort of just rolling dice and guessing the number. No risk, no reward, no thinking and no strategy.
Yes, it worked! It's a pretty nice game. There's not much to do with logics, I think, which is a shame. If the arrows would update while you are flying, this would be a pretty good indicator for how far the planets are away from you.
I like the background effects. Easy but it works.

The game doesn't run. Presuming you made it in XNA you need to "publish" it in Visual Studio before deploying to other systems.
