April 20th-23rd 2012 :: 10 Year Anniversary! :: Theme: Tiny World
You are Tiny God, Lord of a Tiny World. But you want it to be bigger!
Create and modify land with left/right mouse buttons. If you create a good soil, after a while it will be covered in grass. After another while trees start to grow!
Black dots are your followers. They cut down trees, When one of them collects 3 trees, he builds a statue for you. Statues (purple dots) allow you to create more land! (and can even increase your powers sometimes)
But there are also evil beasts (red dots), which can destroy statues and eat humans.
Cover 50% of the world with land, before they kill all your followers!
(and remember that beasts move much slower in water...)
Post-compo version works much faster, try it if the compo one crashes/works too slow on your comp!

Really love the way the build/destroy land works. Very impressive. A lot of potential with this game.
It really is a very Peter Molyneux game.
Its really nice, and i also wish there was way to stop the monsters from eating my followers.
Other then that great job :)
Fantastic graphics! I didn't really get the game-play though. Those red guys were too powerful.
Expanding the land works great, good idea, but I don't see how to play the game when the red monsters just slaughter everyone too easily. I can slow them down by turning land into water, but as the objective is to build land... that just ends up hurting me D=
I really like games like this, and although my Populous technique of drowning enemies wasn't going to work, I did manage to make some award-winning fjords.
You could really flesh this concept out further, maybe with a more complex victory condition. Water could yield more food through fishing to increase the number of followers, for example.
Interesting concept and mechanics. A more versatile gameplay would have made it really good.
Very interesting new game mechanic. Nice and challenging. Good work.
good concept but the game crashes randomly with the press of a few different keys.. like the 's' key and others...
Very interesting mechanics and good music ! It was hard to avoid the monsters but the challenge was well balanced :)
Easy to control, difficult to keep anyone alive. Cool concept though!
I love the simplicity of controls of this game, and what could emerge from it, if added just a couple more concepts. Definitely a Molyneux game, like some of the others said - tiny populous. It doesn't need better graphics - it fits the theme perfectly, and to me (god), people are just dots. Well done!
Lovely idea!
I feel like there's a disconnect between what is happening, what is fun, and what you're supposed to do.
Caring about the humans, who build stuff, is AWESOME. I wnat to continue playing that game.
Seeing how your humans are slaughtered by unexplicable monsters that cannot be stopped while you just try to create more land, effectively abusing the humans, is NOT FUN, though.
Really good entry, and I like the basic idea, very innovative!
Wish there was more control over the humans, though, only five isn't enough, and they get eaten too quickly!
Interesting idea and lovely presentation :)
I was impressed by how smooth the land growing and shrinking thing worked! :D
The only thing I couldn't quite understand was how I could stop the evil guys. I managed to win the game by just being really fast, but it seemed like there was nothing you could do to really stop them. Putting water around them was an idea, but that would also destroy valuable land, so I thought that was a little confusing :3
I'm sure at some point in time at bullfrog or lionhead a game like this was talked about - it's just very "peter molyneux"
and that's a good thing !
concept, graphical presentation and music are simply great.
I didn't manage to survive for too long - the beasts are a bit to strong in my opinion - but this is merely a balancing issue.
great game
This makes two populous-style terrain-editing games in the comp that I'm aware of.
I do wish there was some additional way to engage with the enemies; the race against time works but its less satisfying than actually being able to achieve a stable state.
I want to like this as it looks interesting, but I'm not sure I understand it. What is the challenge apart from drawing a bigger island before the humans die out? Would like to see some more interesting mechanics for higher score.
The concept is excellent, and the land building is really smooth. I like games like this. Unfortunately the unstoppable monsters killing everyone so quickly made it not as fun as it could be.
It's a bit tough, and you have to dig into the readme before you have any idea what is going on, but it's still an enjoyable experience.
It's a great idea!
I share the opinion that the enemies where too tough (I'm a bit crybaby). That makes the game shallow, as you can't control much but to build land the fastest you can.
+1 to the idea, the graphics, and the sounds :-) Well done!
At first they all died, but at second I succeeded! Cool use of theme and nice mechanics! I wish there was a way to actively protect the villagers (tried to drown the red dots but that didn't work)
Pretty nice take on Populous. Got some minor click-delay on the web build but it was functional.
Very solid game, good graphics, good sound, great mechanic. Tons and tons of potential!
But, getting owned by red dots in < 1 minute no matter what I do isn't fun.
This is certainly one of the more original games I have played in this competition.
The sound effects and music are great. I like the whole game mechanic, although it does seem to have a tipping point when you know you're going to win or lose.
Nice one.
Really cool idea and terrain editing but the concept of how you could slow the monsters down with water is completely lost by the fact that water BARELY slows them down. They just move fast instead of stupid-fast.
I won, after 3-4 tries but it wasn't very rewarding. Hope you keep working on the post-competition version!
interesting god game but hard to tell what the real goal is, there seems to be no way to stop the monsters and whether or not you make enough land before the humans die is pretty much 100% random, so you just draw and hope for the best. the SFX weren't "bad" but they kinda grind on you after 2-3 minutes of playing since they constantly repeat (no reason to not always be holding the mouse down)
Definitely interesting and definitely needing of some more slowing down in water,!

Like a game from Peter Molyneux! ^^
Wished there would be another way to stop the monsters from eating my followers.
