April 20th-23rd 2012 :: 10 Year Anniversary! :: Theme: Tiny World
A game about a song on some kind of tiny world..
1. Turn up your speakers/headphones!
2. Right click -> GoFullscreen recommended
3. Click to start, mouse to move (side-to-side and up/down)
4. Avoid deathtraps!
My first Ludum Dare! Not a complete game, but I plan to finish it (or at least flesh it out until the giant death robot's appearance at about 1:30 in the song >:)
*Update: Thanks for the incredible feedback. I've linked a page where I'll be uploading post-jam improvements. There are so many LD games for me to play and rate before I can make any major additions, but for starters you will no longer be able to lose by running into the presses sideways.

It's a shame this game is so short, as it gives you this rare feeling of being totally immersed in a virtual reality.
I really had fun playing it, well done! :)
Thanks guys! I really want to finish it up. The song gets really interesting and I've sketched out some more environments and additional player interactions.
Great music but I have no idea how this related to the theme.
Awesome look, and neat idea, but your game is too unforgiving for me! I made it about halfway though the "blue" and gave up. I think there's a super-strong core here to continue developing this into an awesome full game!
Words cannot express how much I love the styling of this game.
This is rad; the controls are a bit awkward but I like the idea and I'm a big fan of Mr. Oizo!
I always die at the same part and I never see what kills me. Zooming out and showing the surroundings on death would be really helpful. Presentation-wise, it's fantastic.
Beautiful...but I coudn't get how to avoid obstacles and die always at 7th, 8th second...
Beautiful!
But was I doing anything? It seems like it would play for a few seconds and then fade out for no reason.
Suberb graphics. Just as they are, they could be an MTV advertising or the "visuals" of a DJ set. Really nice. For some reason, I just kept thinking in Wipeout while playing. Not a bad thing, I love Wipeout.
Audio = Great. Period.
Wished it had another controls/keyboard option. Mouse didn't feel so good for some reason (to me, at least). I can totally see this game at the XBOX or PSN Network! I would like to see it complete, had troubles with the first obstacles. And needed a visual aid to know what killed me, the fade didn't help. Keep up the great work! n_n
Neat music and deadly animated objects! I like that you had the columns synced to the track, had a nice club feel to it.
I could get through the pink zone but when you get to the blue zone it looks like there's a screw hazard you have to jump over. I tried a bunch of buttons but none would jump :(
Really cool visuals! The music was pretty sweet, too. Is there a way to jump or something? I got to the blue stage and there were things on the ground that I couldn't seem to avoid.
Yeah, finish this! Please! Great graphics, great music. Like others have said, very immersive. Can't believe this is your first entry! Thanks!
I just wish I had a mouse rather than a touchpad to play this. I really love how the music is synched up to the action.

Wish I could have played more of this to give it a better look but my meager skills couldn't really get me far at all. Looks great from the little I saw though!
Great graphics and music. Could use some more feedback when getting hit. Good job!
Lovely idea! ...although it is ridiculously difficult and essentially trial+error. Never got very far, always failed at the same spot.
Beautiful, Stylish, Great Sounds, but HARD! even harder than i can think hard :D
You should put a youtube video of a LP. It sounds amazing, it looks amazing but controls with the mouse are slow and its way too unforgiving (touching one of those stompers AFTER it fell still kills you ??).
Did you make other similar productions before that ? I 'd want to check them out !
Wow everyone thanks for playing and leaving such great comments. I was already hoping to keep expanding it, and even more so now with all the positive feedback. Looks like I'll be making it a lot easier :) But for those of you who found it too hard, don't worry you didn't miss much. I only completed about 20 seconds of content.
Very nice looking entry with good audio. However, I'm having a lot of difficulty figuring out which areas are safe to be in at a given time. (not enough feedback from the hazards / unclear where the collisions are / not enough player control?)
Nevertheless, this is a pretty impressive entry.
And by the time I thought I was getting the hang of it, it was over... Ah, well. You know what they say - give them just enough to keep them wanting more - and that, you did - rather well, I must say!
Personally, I'd suggest that you ease the player in to the game more gradually. Warm them up with some easy obstacles which are spaced out. Some checkpoints would be good as I was slightly disappointed to not restart on the blue level after making it there.
Also, some kind of visual feedback as to what position the player is in would be useful, and you could consider adding keyboard controls where the player is fixed into, say, a left, central or right position depending on whether s/he presses left, nothing, or right. The mouse has an interesting feel to it, but there was some doubt over my position, e.g. I knew I had to move up, but had I moved up enough? Moving in more of a step than a curve should be possible with the mouse, it's just an idea to remove some of the confusion.
Anyway, good job!
Great visuals. It was pretty difficult, though, and confusing to me that the first few obstacles were unavoidable but didn't hurt you.
Really hard but fun! (but I don't get the connection with the theme)
