April 20th-23rd 2012 :: 10 Year Anniversary! :: Theme: Tiny World
Plays on unity webplayer.
Unfortunatelly it's lacking a lot of polish.
This is one of the first things I've made in unity3D, and I kind of like it more now.
I think this game is fun mostly when doing something else, like talking on skype with someone
Software used:
- Unity3D (I love it now, but I want to try getting some plugins and experimenting more with it)
- Blender 3D for the basket ring, and for the net. The net gave me a lot of trouble, and I had to remake it like 10 times due to me not understanding blender.
- Inkscape to draw the world
- paint.net to draw the net, and the guy
Theme: one could argue that this game is not much on the theme of a tiny world, and it might be true. It's probably the worst excuse for a "tiny world game" but if I had better drawing skills, the player would be god, playing with the world, and theme would fit it more.
I'm very limited by my lack of artistic skills, so I made a game that required as little graphics as possible.
Thank you all for your nice comments. I see that the main thing about my game is the addictiveness, and that's what I was going for. I'm trying to have a friend make some art for me, to try to make this into a real game.

Thanks matt, I've taken a great deal of time just adjusting the bounciness and size of the basket, and the force at which you can shoot, and the randomness added to make the difficulty like it ended, and I think it's perfect. What did you think of the difficulty?
Maybe I will remove a little bit of random though, but nothing else
This would be great as a Wario Ware style mini game. Had fun with the simple but difficult to perfect mechanics. Directional audio was a curious touch.
Was kind of satisfying! Not sure if the theme integration was too strong but who cares, I have a combo to top! Good job.
Cool game! Would be cool if you had a limited number of shots, say 20, then you could set high scores. None the less, addictive little game!
P.S The physics were pretty much spot on. The way the ball moves off the ring, and the way the net affects the flight of the ball are awesome!
@Bei: yes, basically that'S what I meant by "lack of polish"
not just in the sense of graphics. I've thought of many game modes, but I didn't have time to implement them. I will in the future though.
@everyone else: thanks for playing!
Got up to 9 combo. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/52854878/Basket9.png
The kind of game you can play during 20minutes without noticing.
@iFred_QC> yeah, it's pretty hard to hit 9, but then, hitting 10 is really really hard. I've never gotten it past 10.
And I've played it a lot myself.
Haha, well I've seen this type of game before, but the use of theme is pretty hilarious.
Well...it's as boring as it is fun (I'm not sure what does it mean...)
What a concept! You created a sports game in a theme where everyone was dealing with micro management games :)
Note: Since this is a Compo entry, you have to provide the source code. http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/rules/
@karnakgames> yes! I changed the links to put everything under "web (unity)" and also removed the source by accident.
it's been here almost the whole time. Thanks for reminding me.
And well, I was also planning on making some kind of adventure/shooter with small planets, and then I panicked cause I thought I wasn't going to have time.
I also realized my limitations when it comes to graphics, so I decided to make something with more physics and almost no graphics.
Well, even it's seem to me that you're are not in the theme, I find your game fun ! And that's what a game have to be!
Too bad it don't seems to fit with the theme for me, but I really enjoyed the combination of a one click/button gameplay with a sport theme. I would LOVE to see it in some kind of full version with multiple sports, better graphics, etc !
I think you have something here. If you wanted to extend the gameplay maybe you could have different challenges with different distances/heights of baskets for different levels, and only a limited number of shots. Nice job!

i think that a real tiny world is one that can be used to play ping pong or golf....
