Ran well for me - good fun. The invincibility music was a great choice. Hit detection seemed a little weird (I was facing down, hitting from behind a building and it didn't register - moved left half a building and it worked)
It was pretty fun, maybe some other attack powers would be a nice addition.
It's a fun game, but it slowed to a crawl after 3-4 minutes of play.
Would have been nice to have several attacks, it felt a bit like I was button smashing.
The game was fun, as gritfish said hit detection was a bit weird. Isn't the menu music the intro of lufia?
OH MAN that's super fun. A game that literally made me say, outloud, to witnesses, "holy crap I love Ludum Dare."
Oh this game is so very freaking cool! I am in love with the art style you used here! There is something disturbingly satisfying about crushing the tiny, square people under my feet! I also love the "Aaaaah! it's God-ziwwa" sound effects!
Feedback:
- As others have said, hit detection is a bit odd, could perhaps be a bit more lenient.
- Other attacks would be great (perhaps a 360 degree tail whip to catch all civillians in a circle around you), or maybe a super stomp that crushes buildings around you?
- Powerups would be cool (health...)
It reminds me of several games: Atom Zombie Smasher and Death Worm are two that come to mind.
Amazing work! 4/5! Mind if I steal this idea and turn it into an Android app? ;P
Quite fun - demolishing buildings and stomping on tiny people :D
Okay, this game made me laugh a lot.
It was a bit annoying that the tanks destroyed buildings, though - they wrecked my combos!
my browser seems to be warning me about 'security concerns' on the java version over some of the libraries.
With some fiddling with libraries, I got this to run in Linux. At first, there was no sound and it was mildly entertaining.
Then I got sound to work and BAM -- CRUSH SMASH DESTROY MWAHAHA. Nice work helping me channel my inner giant monster rage.
My only complaints are that the tiny people move too uniformly -- moar chaos please -- and that I would like to be able to move at diagonals. Otherwise, fun stuff!
Cool game for me! :D
I love this "horrible" graphics!
I have a lot of fan destroying building with Godzilla! :)
I wish it had more destructive power-ups.
Very fun game, enjoyed it. Nice graphics and solid audio. Funny use of the theme.
Great game! I loved the sound effects (lifted from the original movie? Or was it a remake?)!!! my son's reaction "This is freaking me out!" which is a good thing. :)
Sweet! Reminded me of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crush,_Crumble_and_Chomp! though that game was turn-based. I wish you could move diagonally though, and the plane shadows confused me at first. (thought there were two)
@Sanguine : Yea, we run out of time :(
@aaronsnoswell : You can of course use it for an Android app. We are working on our side on an android Version, but we don't know if we will work a lot on it.
@machinas : Same for me. It seems that we use an unsigned version of lwjgl. You can still play on traditional version, btw you should rate us on non-improved version :p
@mattperrin : Nice one, it's from the original movie :)
Thanks to everyone for your feedback!
It ran crazy fast for me and it was hard to position Godzilla where I wanted it. Once the tab was closed the music kept playing. Awesome music though! Seems fun -- locked up on lvl 4 for me for some reason.
That was funny!
The overall appearance totally fits the mood of this game. The graphics are a little inconsistent at parts but the simple visual style totally works. Great sound and music.
The movement of godziall could've been a little slower imo.
A very crazy and frantic game, with extremely funny dialogue, nice music and simple mechanics. Nice.
Hahaha that was just great! Simple but really fun(and funny) for a while!
It's ok, although more fluid movement would be most welcome (e. g. move diagonally by pressing up+down)
