April 20th-23rd 2012 :: 10 Year Anniversary! :: Theme: Tiny World
This has been awesome! I built a game in 48 hours, and it plays great!
You play as a little rover guarding a tiny planet from invading alien ships. There is no score, just stay alive as long as you can.
I built the project in a custom engine I wrote in C++ and LUA using OpenGL, OpenAL, and GLFW.
I have some posts about the development on my blog at : http://blog.decultured.com

The windows download doesnt actually have any windows runnable files included...
Yeah same problem, Windows package contains Mac files. Couldn't play it sorry.
Couldn't play it. No Windows version in the Windows archive. Sorry.
Yeah, the Windows archive only contains Mac files. Can't play it unless you reupload. :(
can't test as I don't really have any way of running a OSX application and can't use wine because the windows zip is mistakenly the same as the mac zip and doesn't have the windows exe.
Windows version is actually a Mac archive - couldn't play - sorry. Looks cool, though.
Sorry for the double-comment, I just need to clear some unplayable games off my list.
I couldn't play it. The windows download contains the OS X version.
That's really good. The controls feel right which is really important to me.
I'm sure you realize that it would benefit from a score and indication of damage. It would also be nice if there was a reason for jumping... maybe bonuses that float above the surface.
I'm in OS X 10.6.8, and the app crashes on start. Looks like the relative path is stumbling somewhere? It can't find Resources or ludum.
Pity, too. The screenshot exhibits an interesting aesthetic.
log:
usage: dirname path
LudumDare.app/Contents/MacOS/ludumdare: line 4: cd: ../Resources: No such file or directory
LudumDare.app/Contents/MacOS/ludumdare: line 5: ../MacOS/ludum: No such file or directory
Exited with exit code: 127
Nice tiny game. Too bad there's nothing to keep track of time/score: there's no end, right ?
My favorite part is when ludumdare_WIN.zip contains two directories: ludumdare_MAC and __MACOSX
:)
Well, hmmm, ooops... I uploaded the wrong file for the windows build! Oh well...
I built a game and an engine in 48 hours and that is all that matters!
