April 20th-23rd 2012 :: 10 Year Anniversary! :: Theme: Tiny World
There are no resources left in the Universe, the only planets unharvested are the tiny worlds. Although untouched, because of their size they can only sustain life for a few hundred years. So you are at a constant threat and must keep jumping between planets to keep the human race alive and prevent us from becoming obsolete.
I put everything I have into this. I managed to finish in 24 hours and still get something I was really proud of. I was especially happy with the soundtrack which only took 2 hours but came out really good.

I like the concept, and its presentation is great, though the scroll speed seems really sluggish.
Incredible game! The music is perfect for the mood. The scroll could be faster, but overall it's an awesome game!
Sluggish scroll speed, and the gameplay is a little boring. Otherwise great work.
As the deadline isn't quite reached yet I tweaked the scroll speed so hopefully that should be ok for anyone else who tries it now :)
good stuff man :) the music fits and gfx are great.. love the little receiving probe info sound :)
The atmospshere is beautiful. The monochrome-silhouette-graphics and the piano fit wonderfully together.
Nice work!
Awesome atmosphere. I thought it was kind of boring, but still really cool.
Graphics, sound and atmosphere are impressive! Unfortunately, the actual gameplay can't quite keep up.
Love the atmosphere, graphics, and theme! You can touch someone's heart about the condition of our beloved planet. Great work! :D
Very unique atmosphere and game.
Cool idea too!
Great piece of art :)
You know how to create an atmosphere ! Graphics & Music are awesome, the message is nice. Good work.
really, really cool. it would've been nice if i didn't have to launch a probe *again* to colonize a planet i'd found earlier. if that stuff had been saved, it'd have been a little less frustrating when i lost :)
As matthias_zarzecki says, the atmosphere in the game is just beautiful! The shadows, piano, drum beat, the receiving probe data sound effect...just perfect!
I wished the edges in the plants weren't as jagged but the game is great overall. Congratulations!
I love this game. Great atmosphere, fun gameplay.... Very nice.
Very nice game, very atmospheric. I like how the buildings rise up over time. The gameplay could use something more though, or maybe it's a bit too easy.
9097 years yeaaaaa!! Anyways, epic game!! Great graphics and the music totally gives a feeling of calmness, but also anxiety. Awesome job!
Interesting game.
Great music for the feel of the game. (lonely, and somehow sad)
Interesting mechanic used.
Concept .. is unsettling.
Though I though the theme of 'small world' was a bit to literal and overly blunt for the rest of what it was :P
Great game with under crunch. X}
Wow, amazing entry for compo. Clean graphics, nice sound, interesting theme and design.
What a wonderful entry! There's not much to the gameplay on this entry, which is a shame, but everything else about it is simply breathtaking.
Honestly, even though the gameplay is minimal I really can't think of anything you could add that would make it a better experience. You've somehow managed to make me give you a 5 overall without giving you 5 in "fun" which baffles me.
This is officially one of my favorite entries.
I really enjoyed playing this. Great job! Perfect music / mood and fun gameplay
Nice game, but I had problems while playing:
Mouse speed was very low, I could not turn more than 90° or so before resources were exhausted
Text display speed was irregular, sometimes I had to wait more than 10 seconds to see the end of a message.
Great mood and atmosphere! Truly beautiful work, especially for such a short dev time, but as a game I found it lacking as there didn't seem to be any strategic depth. I just picked a direction at random and hoped my probe found a planet to colonize. Kinda sells our competence as a species a bit short, don't you think?
Beautiful game. Perhaps mechanics could be further expanded (like building some sort of galactic map with the probe data, with probability clouds and the like) but as it stands now is a truly simple but beautiful game.
Impressive graphics, was this really made in 24 hours and not in 48? It is incredibly beautiful and polished. Awesome mood and message too, probably the most meaningful game I've seen in the competition so far.
There's a big balancing issue in my opinion though, I gave up playing after 14000 years survived, because I felt I would never die unless I wanted to. The difficulty progression should be way, way steeper.
I think the game mechanic is fun by itself. If it was a way harder game, making the play attempts short and motivating people to play it more than one time to get high scores, it could be a perfect game.
But as I said before, this is an amazingly beautiful entry with a very strong message, congratulations!
After a while going in the same direction, my probes started returning no packets - is there a galaxy map with an edge or a black hole or something?
Music is great and fit perfectly your universe.
the rest of the game is very well done.
I really enjoyed playing your game. Thank you :)
I think the gameplay could have been better if there were tradeoffs to make. The style, music, and polish are amazing, but it doesn't feel like I'm doing much in the game.
A little slow for my taste, but very well implemented. I liked the music and graphics. Good game :)
The music and the atmosphere are incredible. Sending probes out only to have them come back empty when you're running out of resources captures a really great feeling of hopelessness.
Oh, how I hate you and your perfect game. Stop bragging about your 24 hour win and your beautiful graphics and perfect soundtrack and— yah. Just take all my stars.
Great great game ! I found the response to the theme deep and this with a simple gameplay. Really cool game!
Amazing work, very impressed that you got this made within 24 hours! The visuals and music were very good! The game was a bit simplistic, wasn't very hard to find the other planets, but really nice concept and very well presented!
Looks and sounds very nice! I wasn't really sure how to play well though, sometimes the probe would find things but rotating that many degrees came up empty.

really nice game
