Such a great concept. I'd love to hear more about your method of blending JS and C++ as well.
This was a fun game! I'm going to have to check out Emscripten now. Nice concept!
Wow. Well done. With a few more levels and some exploration of the "change size to solve puzzles" idea, this could easily be a full game.
Very well executed. Ridiculously high level of polish. Well done. My only complaint is it runs pretty slow in my browser.
Please do write about your experience with the C++ -> JS. I'd love to be able to deploy stuff online, but I can't bear to leave my IDE/breakpoints/compiler/strongly typed language behind!
Very cool. It actually ran okay on the chrome book I am using. Great work on the graphics for a jam game. Wish there was more to play. Nice work!
Very fun, polished game! Though I found the jumping physics a bit odd.
Really cute and befitting graphics. It was pretty laggy on my laptop (on Chrome) but it wasn't unbearable. The sound effects were great, the game design was great, and I loved the character you went with. Jumping was a little strange, but maybe I'm just not used to the occasional random wall-hugging. Great job PoV!
Very polished. It was really hard to backtrack though. The wall jump controls were difficult and it annoyed me that you couldn't wall jump while small.
Well it's just all around...good! Controls seemed a bit sluggish, but not enough to knock any stars off. I'd love to see this on a tablet device at some point!
Wow, very nice and polished. Beautiful graphics. I love the concept too - reminds me of Minish Cap - I even entertained the notion of doing something similar to this for a bit :-) My one nit to pick would be to ask for more things to do other than collect stars and keys - it begins to feel very straightforward after a point. Still, that doesn't degrade much from the game, which is great!
Wow, so good looking! Awesome concept with the shrinking as well! The controls were a bit "floaty" though, I felt they could have been much tighter.
Great game with amazing level of polish!
Not sure if Emscripten is feasible for HTML5 game development though. >15k LOC seems pretty heavy for a game like this. Runs really slow on Chrome 18 on an i7.
Maybe Mozilla can fix those performance issues but I would bet on wide spread availability of Google's Native Client before that. NaCl at least seems to be lightyears ahead in performance
The performance bottleneck is rendering. Blame Canvas 2D. I locked the framerate to 30fps, and developed it on an i5.
Awesome pixels, but why why why the ugly blended scaling! D:
Movement felt a bit unbearable too, reaaaaaally slow horizontal accelleration/movement.
It's a shame because otherwise this is pretty wonderful.
Blended scaling is Chrome's fault. Current Webkit sources fix this. Firefox is pixely.
Definitely one of the best looking games in the competition! I played it the whole way through and got full stars: http://i.imgur.com/KkKuj.png Do I get a medal?
The sound was fantastic as well. Really well polished game. Congratulations on making a great game!
Very nice game. Cute art style. The controls could be a bit more responsive.
why you did not upscale your game? graphics are so cute ...
And browser upscale are so ugly..
Cool plateformer, maybe the wall jump isn't very userfriendly, nevertheless, i finished it with pleasure !
well done !
@Carduus I'm hoping to get Google's attention to fix the upscale bug. It's already fixed actually in Webkit, they just need to update their code. Firefox is pixely and good.
Very nice graphics. I had some some performance issues, but nothing game-breaking.
Very pretty! Surprisingly sluggish controls and movement, but still pretty fun to play.
Very nice visuals. The controls need a bit of work though. I wonder if the game visuals would be even more exciting if when your guy shrinks, the world zooms in? So he'd be the same size only more pixely! I think that would help with the imagination that you're smaller (because everything else would appear bigger.)
So beautiful and polished! And great iconic character design. Nice job!
Amazing art! That transformation animation is the awesome! The sound is great too. It feels just like an old SNES game.
Very nice, I love the idea of two different stages on top of each other. I was sort of having fun, then I realized you could wall jump and it was on. Reminds me of a WayForward platformer. The transition animation seemed to take a really long time, and the game feel of the smaller lizard's jump was a little wonky but the level design and overall cohesion more than made up for it. Very nice work.
Really cute, and beautiful graphics! I've never been a fan of wall-jumping in 2D, but that's a personal nitpick. That aside, the jumping didn't always feel the most intuitive, but I picked it up after a while.
Changing size to solve the puzzle was a nice twist!
Overall, it ran nice and smooth, and I was invested in playing through to the end! Great job!
Graphics are great, i'd give even more than 5 stars, it's a shame though that (like the others said) the controls are unbearable. :/
Wow, wow, wow.
So this great game is made by some of the people I most admire in the community?
Derek, whose game Blocks I have gladly installed on my iPhone!
Filippo, whose music is always refreshing and emmense!
I don't know much about Mike, I shall investigate! haha
Well guys, great... wait, no.... awesome game!
I like the fact you can jump farther if you were running at a higher speed; the art is incredibly well done; the music, as always, delightfull!
I did notice some slowdown, but surely cause because of my low RAM!
Thumbs up "cracks" !!
astounding entry
(I won't even bother saying all the praise the others already rightfully gave you)
Wow html5 compiled from C++! cool xD
I really liked the wall jump and graphics but the acceleration of the char was a bit low and the game needs more gameplay variety, collecting stars isn't that fun after a while..
Other then those great game! congrats.
awesome graphics/level design. I found the jumping a little annoying faced with tight spaces, and also I couldn't get the wall jumping to work all that well.
Awesome game and super cute main character. Double jumps were tricky to get right however.
Lots of fun here and an endearing character. Would be great to see future levels (ie. Would play again)
This game was wonderful!
It's so polished and well thought out and FUN!
Wow. I feel like a giddy schoolboy.
The music was good. The audio cues were great. I felt rewarded when I did good things and confident that the game would help me learn to good things. The signs were very helpful. The movement was smooth and solid. The map design was very very good.
I did almost put the game down in frustration before I noticed that I could stick to walls... I'm so glad I didn't.
Wonderful work!

Great graphics and general feel/tone. Game was a bit clunky (compo version) which made me have to put it down before I got all the keys. Still, a great effort and fantastic amount of polish other than the framerate issue.
I was starting to lose hope in the Jam entries before this. Massively impressive, one of the best games I've seen so far.
Amazing job. I just wish that the lizard would wall jump without the need to change the direction. Also, I'm pretty sure I collected all the stars, but only had half of them. Unless you guys hid the rest somewhere off screen. :P
I played the game twice so I could get the stars I missed during the start of the game.
The game is very polished and the graphics and sound are AMAZING. Of course, there already exist many games where the main character can shrink, but this was done in such a solid way in this game that I have to take off my hat to you guys.
I'll set as an objective for myself to make a tileset as beautiful as yours someday.
In my opinion, you guys should use this to make a bigger game, with more stages and sceneries, and perhaps new mechanics like enemies and hazards, and release it as an indie game. What you've got there is already very solid and I'd definitely pay to play a long version of this with many levels!
This was relly an experience! The resizing with the fullscreen-mode worker really well and was just awesome. The game is polished to the end, overall I'm totally amazed. Definitly one of my top3 jam entrys.
Really great presentation! The controls did feel a bit floaty but the 60fps version is much quicker and smoother (I did first play it to completion in the jam version though). The way it controls combined with the graphics and music actually make me harken back to Donkey Kong Country, a bit. Adorable character design.
As KevinWorkman said I'd like to see some size-changing puzzles across multiple levels. I think this looks like the engine test to an excellent game!
The music was a bit short of a loop though I must admit. It's not that the composition was bad (I can tell the musician has talent!), but there was not much change to it so it felt a bit repetitive as you went through the very large level.
Sound effects are nice and chunky, and it clearly feels like some real care went into the controls over-all, I think. It does feel like the beginning to a nice little smartphone or web-game!
Nice games, I like it!
Perhaps, could be better polish the constrols when is touching a wall to "rejump".
Goodjob!
Wow. Very polished on all aspects. The only think that I can complain is that "shrinking" doesn't make the work "tiny"; the other way around, actually. So the link with the theme is rather weak, in my opinion. But this is a trifle. :-)
Wonderful work. I'm very surprised at the canvas performance - you should be able to optimize the renderer a LOT more. The design of the game is WONDERFUL - art and sounds and concept. The little silver tube you fall through near the door: I completely missed it and (I'm ashamed to admit) gave up after 5+ mins of wondering what I was missing) and only get it the second time around. Idea: make that tube way more obvuous, for first timers - I big flash arrow or glow or nothing there at all - just blank space - to train newbies what to look for. Once I got past the first door I had fun. Wonderful work. Keep up the good job and be sure to check out other canvas renderers and see how it is they can push so many more pixels before the FPS suffers. You can expect to push a 640x480 canvas with parallax bg and many tiles at 60fps no problem. For example, using www.jawsjs.com
Wowzers! That was fantastic! My only complaint is I prefer to have the jump button separate from the movement buttons. And it would be cool if you could wall jump while small.
Superb entry! Great controls, excellent interpretation of the theme, how accomplished, contratulations!
I would like a faster gameplay: more dynamic, now it's a little slow (slow acceleration). Anyway great graphics and music.
Very nice game. Even before the post compo.
I always have audio problems in my HTML5 games. I noticed that the rate the star pickup sound plays was reduced in the post compo. Was there a reason for that?
Wow, beautiful art! I would like to see it on a bigger size, though, but anyway a really fun experience.
This is great! The mechanics are unique and interesting, and sound & graphics work beautifully together.
I really enjoyed the game mechanics and level itself. Got a little frustrated with the wall jump, but not a big deal overall.
I hope you can make a bigger game out of this level, I would really like to play that.
Wow! Super polished entry. Will be back later to collect all the stars!
very nice graphics and polish, cool audio too. Unfortunately, I didn't find the key/star collecting/maze gameplay that exciting. I can see the mechanics becoming fun with more content though. Still a class entry.
amazing graphics! way to go! so clean! The music was very cool too
Very good music and graphics, the lizard reminded me a lot of childhood hero and Legend of the Gobbos Croc :)
It feels very finished and clean, great work.
It's amazing how much you put into the graphics, it looks very good. Also sounds very good. I was not able to get too engaged with the game, I felt the controls were a bit awkward. The post-compo felt much better to play, but I felt it was still a bit off. Especially the jumping and bouncing around. Fixing that, this'd be perfect!
A classic game with a lot of charisma. maybe a litle slow but this is a great job.
Bravo
Cute character, I really enjoyed the game. Wall jump was a bit hard to control though
Nice game, it'd desserve more levels.
Worked fine in FF12 on win 7.
Pretty short, I kept wanting for more levels!
I really love the art and level design. It seems the game could use some enemies, traps & powerups to make it more challenging. :)
Friggin' CUUUUUUUUUTENESS overload! Rad music and graphics and animation GAWD it looks good!

Awesome graphics, still not done playing yet. It's pretty laggy on my computer though. Tested both chrome and firefox, firefox did a lot better.
