Seems like people don't like swimming ;)
Check the spoiler in description.
It was cool when I was nearly dying of starvation and then I have found fruit tree.
I've got to the underworld, but there was a place with too many evil squirrels, so I couldn't pass. Though maybe that was a way to eliminate my hunger forever, since they kept spawning. If so, I guess I won then!
After murdering hundreds of squirrels in cold blood I finally made it to the food fountain. This game made me hungry. A+++++ would play again :)
really want to play this but the dl gets stuck on 92% and won't load :( safari/mac lion
took me some time to get how to beat the first level
very charming graphics and music
jimmypaulin: I'll try fixing it, and publish as a "Post compo fix" asap.
Overall I liked the game, but I have some comments to potentially make the play experience a little more enjoyable.
- Movement speed is pretty slow, especially in water, i think a movement speed increase would definitely help exploration.
- The invisible walls in the water are a little confusing. Maybe rocks or something to visibly show that you can't go any further would be very helpful in guiding the player or at least let them know that swimming further would be useless.
Other than that, I found the graphics charming and the concept interesting!
Really nice graphics and music! Kind of slow, but doesn't bother. I was about to give up, but then I realized I could swim and I was like "OOOH" ^__^
Very nice presentation, especially graphics. I also liked the food mechanic (and it made me quite a bit hungry).
The art and the music reminded me of Startropics - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8b7x30_E0Ko
Unfortunately I got stuck probably a lot earlier than you intended. I tried to get in the doors and climb up the tree and everything was locked. Killed all the animals, harvested the plants, and then starved to death. Would have liked a few more clues, but perhaps you wanted it to be challenging.
Thanks for sharing!
I liked the way you force people to explore, and simultaneously trick them into thinking that they've seen it all.
I was a bit perplexed by the endless squirrel spawning area near the end. Ultimately I found that all I could really do was just make a run for it. In fact I would guess that's a valid strategy for the entire game.
