April 20th-23rd 2012 :: 10 Year Anniversary! :: Theme: Tiny World
Hummy is hungry!
You don't want that lil cute thing to feel hungry!
But, at times, it can be to small to even eat yummies...
Thus, you must help him get bigger to eat what it wants. =D
Movement: arrow keys
Eat stuff: spacebar
Reset Stage: R key
And there's cake for the 10 year anniversary! =D
It's not a lie!!
(Ok, that was a bad joke, but... >_<)

As you mentioned yourself I missed the ability to walk and eat at the same time. Liked your original concept, to bad it didn't work out
Nice game with the jumping, eating, and changing sizes. It would be nice to have a sense of danger, like racing something to the yummy. Good work on the game.
I liked the graphics, the music loop got kind of annoying for me though, maybe it should be a bit longer.
The flickering thing confused me but i worked it out! but very nice idea :) the graphcis and sounds go together very nicely!
I wasn't expecting the little growing mechanic... or the stomp to shrink mechanic. Neat stuff! I wish you would've been able to stay closer to the theme like your original idea. Sounds like it would've been rad!
My one main gripe with it is having to manually eat the apples, if I was able to just run over them and automatically eat them I feel there'd be more room for other goals (more platforming, keys and doors, buttons, for example). I enjoyed myself though, I liked the little tune too.
Thanks for the comments. =D
About the controls, it was necessary to use a button to eat and to only be able to eat when stopped because there would be enemies... It would be to easy otherwise... (at least, it seemed so on my mind xD)... Though I noticed that it takes some time to get used to the controls... I'll think about it when doing the next version. ^^
Pretty fun game, but I don't get why it doesn't just automatically eat the cherries?
I'm a sucker for classic game style music and sfx though ;)
Why do i have to jump over the "yummy"? It seems really unnecessary. The "childish" text in combination with the music just creeps me out.
Got stuck on stage 3 until I read your comment, finished the game. Not a bad idea but could use more work. Good job though. :)
I like the idea of this one. I think I'd prefer more of a puzzle platform element to it, perhaps having to eat the apples in the right order so you don't get too big to fit through gaps. Played it through though :)
Nice tiny game! loved the little tiles and the apples! Great idea too :)
Thanks for all the comments. =]
All your feedback are being taken into account for the next version.
(that means, for one, that I'll make changes to the controls... Though I'm still not sure how...) =D
I liked the concept and the humor, but there is somethings buggy in your design.
- Not be able to run/jump and eat is kinda frustrating because you have to wait to be stable to be able to eat.
- The concept of your game is get bigger to eat bigger things, so jump on them to make they smaller defeats the whole purpose. Or you maintain the ability to make things smaller and remove your ability to get bigger or the opposite, but not both.
By simple removing and adding some little things your game would be much better and I suggest you to do so. :)
Clever use of the theme, I like this game.
A bit short on the levels, but good work!
Is there a reason why you can't run and eat? Coming to a complete stop at each of those apples was annoying. I liked the music with it.
Why in the world you explain that you need to jump on the pies as late as 5th stage when you need to start jumping on them on 3rd stage and forward? That makes absolutely no sense. Also the whole jumping on the pies was unnecessary, why was that necessary? Also what was the point of eating apples when growing in size didn't affect anything and you could just run to the pie and eat it right away by just jumping on it enough times? I'm sorry, but this game was terrible.
The idea is fine, a platformer where you have to collect all the things to get to the next level. But the execution (which I'm guessing was thrown in to cover up a bug you couldn't fix in time) made that a bit pointless as it was harder to eat the apples (collision seemed wonky, couldn't eat while moving, why do we have to press space at all) than to just jump on the cake a bunch of times, which doesn't make for a very fun game. But you do have a basic platforming engine up and working, and that's great work for 48 hours. Just give it some polish, and it'll be a lot more fun.
Cute game, not much of a challenge though. The ramblings about yummies from the main character reminded me of Quina from final fantasy 9. :P
This was unintentionally creepy... interesting implementation of the feeding frenzy mechanic, just needs some actual challenge now.
Simple but groovy music. The game is indeed a bit off-theme (is more of a "tiny char" instead of a "tiny world") but it's fun anyway. Graphics are cute and well done and I love the retro SMB feel. Congratz!

Some things that I've noticed I should say, after watching some friends playing my game:
- I mention this later in the game, but... you can't walk/jump and eat;
- You can't eat things that are flickering! (forgot to add this info ingame);
- In stage 3, the cake is slightly bigger than it should be (even though code seems ok):
Jump over the cake so it shrinks until you are able to eat it (3 times should be enough);
- "Collision" (for eating... it's an overlap check, actually) is kinda buggy... or so it seemed when watching my friends playing... I don't have problems.... '-'
And an explanation about the theme:
- Originaly, hummy would grow through the stages (i.e. it wouldn't return to it's original size). Then, when he got bigger than the world, he would eat the world and go to another... until that one also got tiny...
While panicking about finishing something in time for the compo I forgot about this... and the game now seems kind off-theme (I would even say completely off-theme, but... who knows? Other's may think otherwise...)
