April 20th-23rd 2012 :: 10 Year Anniversary! :: Theme: Tiny World
Alien interlopers have appeared in our galaxy! Send a robotic warrior to the planet to destroy it form the inside out!
CONTROLS: A or D to move left or right. Space to jump. Left mouse click to shoot.
Sadly there is no sound (not enough time nor do I really know how to make sound...).
Play it on the web now!

Nice tech.
I only played the first version - but there only one level? I destroyed the core, and seen how new planets-levels(?) is appeared but the game is end with the black screen :(
Also, jumping from the crate not works well.
Thanks for the comments!
Yeah, in the post-submission version, I fixed the jumping off of crate's issue. And yes, unfortunately there is only one level for the game. The ending I wanted it to leave it more open ended with the possibility of there being more to build on.
Thanks for playing though! I appreciate the feedback!
Too short ):
The graphics are good, it would be awesome if there was some audio and more game elements to it.
That was short! The visuals are great. Definitely hope you plan on continuing to develop this further.
Love the cliff hanger. Really good visuals, might try focusing a bit more on gameplay next time though, but I understand the time crunch.
Graphics are awesome...controls, meh. I was rather suprised to find out that I could not jump from on top of crates, for example. Also I got stuck in the wall.
Good graphics. Had trouble with the controls: stuck to walls, couldn't jump off boxes. I also somehow knocked the core off the screen and couldn't destroy it. Had to reload the game to finish.
Nice little tech demo. It was pretty short, but looked really nice, I'd like to see something like this made into a full game. Also the jumping could have used a bit of work.
Hahah, to tacograveyard, sorry about the knocking the core off the screen thing. Didn't realize that was a problem until after submission when a friend of mine was playing it and managed to do the same thing! I created a fixed version afterwords. Only minor tweaks (fixed box jumping issue, and core flying off the screen) though some things remain a problem such as sticking to walls. The updated version is also a little easier (higher jumping, lower platforms).
Just wanted to thank everyone who's played it so far and commented! This is my first Ludum Dare and really love all the feedback!
Short but sweet. I wish there were some baddies to shoot! The environment is good and I think the core looked really cool. I didn't like that you cling to the walls when trying to jump up a ledge (unless I missed something), but hey I know that Unity platformers are way harder to make than one might think.
Okay, look, Unity just has a way of making games look good.
But this -actually- looks good!! Effort went into planning the layout of the tutorial, and deciding on that camera.
Slap a cooler looking main character (or not, whatever) and add in some mouse targetting and some more variety of gameplay - you've got a solid platformer that anyone would be glad to play over and over.
No joke, the visuals and experience alone will get people to play this game. Keep on keepin' on, you're did a good job!
Possibly the shortest game i've played. Not that that's a bad thing. If you take this further I'd suggest adding directional shooting (given that you used the mouse, I assumed I could aim). I didn't realise sticking to the walls was a problem. I assumed it was a ledge-grabby thing. Great graphics.
Looks great!
Nice tutorial style intro but where's the actual game?
Needs more levels and some audio.
Nice job tho!
Nice basis for a platformer! Sadly, it's a wee bit short.
Moody, dark and kind of forbidding, though with the tongue-in-cheek messages it was clear if you were going for dark or humorous. I think sound effects would resolve this! The graphics are amazing, really nicely put together system. A little hard to see where to go as quite dark, loads of scope to continue the experience though, good stuff!
I've played just the original. And was saddened at how short it was!
It was pretty solid with the exception of some strange friction on the crates. Good one!

Lovin' the visuals!
