April 20th-23rd 2012 :: 10 Year Anniversary! :: Theme: Tiny World
E S T A B L I C H M E N T
is a tower defense / puzzle game.
============== STORY ===============
The financial crisis finally got the best of the planet Earth, and every country has collapsed.
Every country? No! Only Switzerland, living like a tiny independant world since the dawn of ages, with its own
currency, its own mannerisms, has subsisted.
With this general demise, the Swiss are happy not to have to worry about strangers anymore: they are finally alone
on their land.
But one day... aliens arrived! Portals appeared out of nowhere in all the major cities, with weird yellow creatures
being teleported out of them.
The press quickly spread panic about this event, but you kept your calm. Thinking that you maybe, just maybe, there is some money to make out of this.
Build houses, buildings, and mighty towers to house these aliens, make money, and win each level by fulfilling
various objectives.

@SmallDeadGuy Thank for the review! What platform did you try? The Windows build should be self-contained. As for the Linux build it does have a few dependencies, I could try static linking.
Unfortunately when I run the exe (on windows7) I get an error box saying "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)."
Hi guys! @tenpn, @Canard Sauvage and @pythong, can you try again with the 0.1c release? https://github.com/downloads/nddrylliog/establichment/establichment-0.1c-win32.zip
It includes zlib1.dll
I couldn't work out how to build from source; the asset submodule seemed broken but I just did my own git clone on it directly and that worked; the grab_deps ran ok, but I was curious why they weren't instead in as submodules; and then I was left trying to work out what 'rock' was. What component is that?
Anyway, I ended up running the pre-made linux binary you packaged, and an apt-get install libalut-dev later or so was playing.
Damn those aliens spawn quickly. Can't work out what the surrounding thing is either.
Interesting idea. This is a neat break from most kinds of tower defense type games. It just seems like it ends before it really gets to any kind of challenge, and you can just build houses in a box where the enemies start and never have to do anything. Had it more levels and more challenge to it it would have been pretty neat. On one level I tried a strategy other than "spam houses" of "use trees to funnel people into lava to cull the homeless population" but it didn't work. It would have been interesting if that were way to do certain levels.
I'd like to test this out, but was unable to get it going on OSX.
"The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)." :(
I couldn't really figure this out. I'm stuck on what I think is the second level and homeless keep surrounding me. nice audio. the music in the background is very nice.

Pretty good, the graphics are a little shoddy and I had to install some stuff to make it work but it's quite fun. I just spammed houses though, if I didn't I'd get overrun by homeless people
