April 20th-23rd 2012 :: 10 Year Anniversary! :: Theme: Tiny World
Faelanx
Explore as far down in the Faded Dungeon within the Fae realm, training your magic and equipping yourself to survive the monsters driven mad.
Notes: A few things didn't get fully done (achievements are all the same type), but I hope to get a post competition version out soon that will finish up what was missed. I didn't have time to integrate any story into the game at all, so don't expect tiny worlds. :)

Is this even a Compo entry? I mean, it is so polished and fluid. If someone gave me the direct link to the game I wouldn't even think it is a LD game!
Nice work, I don't have anything to complain about it!
Slick game, very polished, and excellent art style. The background music gets a little annoying, and it didn't seem like the enemies varied a lot (only got to the eight floor, though). Well done!
This game is amazing. Even though it has a lot of content, it's very well-balanced (though I didn't use many weapons besides the main one and the plasma, I didn't find any balance isssues in the level-up system or difficulty progression). It was very risky from the start of the competition to make such a complex game, it's really impressive that it was made by a single person.
The only thing is, how exactly doest the game match the "Tiny World" theme? I'm sorry to say this, but I wouldn't be surprised if some people suspect you made this game for another competition or something.
This is amazing that you have made such a top-notch quality game in such a short time. I tip my hat to you and your skills, sir.
Excellent work! Has that compulsive addicting quality to it ;)
Nice work! I probably could have kept playing for hours. Auto-equip would have been nice. I think seeing the damage would add to the fun, especially since you can get crits apparently. I didn't run into many instances where I needed to use the other spells though, which is unfortunate since they were really cool.
Another gem! I love mucking with your code too. I was playing around with this and added a feature to sell old items! It makes getting fae much easier!!
Awesome entry! I could play this game all week! I love the use of color and the smooth movement of everything on the screen. So much to look at, but it's not overwhelming.
Fantastic :) Really well executed with a high amount of polish. Well done :D
So much replayability! What a value! Would ask for more but this game has everything. Great entry into the competition
Crazy insane amount of content. Good job on this one. Definitely gonna play this one some more
Yes, Wow! Hard to believe this is a Compo entry, but what can I say, except: Solid work, Fun to play, Addictive even. Probably one of the best games I've played here yet.
Awesome game!I will play later. I can stay playing for hours!
Is very fun, I have been player for a more than 15 minutes!
Keep it up! :)
Very complete game as always :) I played quite a bit (floor ~25), but found it a be repetitive, maybe due to the lack of new monsters showing.
It looks so polished that at first I didn't think it was a compo game! Especially, given that the theme was nowhere to be seen.
As always, great game! But it's very unfinished. You have a lot to do for the post-compo release!
This is super impressive, the scale of everything is crazy. The graphics are beautiful too, the music fitting and the sounds good. The only things I didn't see are relation to the tiny world theme and gameplay is unpolished in areas (looks like a lot of that polish went into graphics! still astounded by them). Really amazing that you did all of this in 48 hours.
Wow, the graphics, I must say, are astounding. That caught my eye just from seeing the timelapse, so you're certainly doing something very right there! The music is okay, maybe a bit repetitive, but nice. The amount of work you've poured into this over just 48 hours is astounding - well done!
Indeed the level of polish here makes it hard to believe that this is really a 48 hour entry but I'll still give you the benefit of the doubt and rate it accordingly. While simple, the game was oddly compelling and addictive. I wasn't sure what relation it had to the theme, though.
I felt like the other spells, being so close to the movement keys, were a hinderance more than a help. The game's strategy doesn't seem to require them, and even though they're powerful they are hard to use on the run which makes them less useful than the basic fireball.
Otherwise, quite solid!
Very polished and a lot of fun. The music was a little repetitive. It took me a bit to realize I could upgrade spells. So much content! Great work.
Awesome dungeon crawler! And nice to see the smiles are betting better too :)
Very good! Some feedback as I went through it:
It wasn't immediately clear that click is how you attacked, since all the other controls except that one were shown to me. Still mostly my fault.
I'd like it if a blink wouldn't move you anywhere, using it didn't put it off cooldown. (that's a really awkward sentence)
Biggest problem I see as far as fun is: this game is difficult for the wrong reasons. The very, very small amounts of healing given means that you'll eventually lose just by wearing down, rather than a "fun" death. Increase healing and increase damage, methinks. Give it more "extremes" if that makes sense.
Finally, an in-game explanation of what the stats do would be good.
Excellent dungeon dive, really good progress and difficulty ramping, great selection of items, spells, stats, mobs and levels - a real achievement in 48h! Extremely well presented and well rounded experience
A very good game! Definitely one I'll come back to :) When I came to play the second time, I was pleasantly surprised that it had saved my progress :D
The graphics are lovely, but what I really like is the variation and opportunity to use and specialise in different spells. The enemies are varied too, so there's a lot to do! One problem I do have is that enemies respawn more quickly than I'd expect, from travelling one side of the level to the other. It would be good if enemies were cleared out of a level, only respawning when you went up or down (you'd have to add an upward staircase). I suppose the way it's done now allows you to level up before descending further.
Great job!

Wow, this game is just fantastic. I'm a huge fan of dungeon crawlers and this is polished, well-presented, and most importantly, fun! Amazing work.
