I had a lot of fun making this; I've been itching to write a platforming engine for a long time now. My only regret is that there just wasn't enough time to do all the things I wanted. I had plans for a much bigger story, spanning multiple levels. Oh well, that's just how it is.
No music I'm afraid. I really wish I'd had time to make some, it would have brought a lot more feeling to it.
There's a 48-hour timelapse video of the creation here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R98mENbJXMU)
I made this game for you.
Ludum Dare loves you too.

Great game! I loved the main character and the whole concept. At first I though the name of the game was very generic but I liked the ending of the game and I understand the concept. Great work! (I'm not sure if it was a mistake but theres is no sound in the game)
Man that a really cool little game - if it had music/sfx it would've been a potential winner in my opinion.
Wonderful game. Really well constructed-- the game controlled perfectly. Lovable little character, too. Great work.
Hey thanks guys!
Yeah there's no sound at all. I agree it really needed some, but as it was I barely made it in time for the submission!
Great little game!
I love the umbrella thingy. It really really needs some music to set the mood.
I really liked the game and, after reading the comments, I give it a couple more tries to get through the ending and it's a very original approach to the topic.
to begin with I just thought it was a cute and well-designed platformer, but nothing more. The ending really made it for me
Nice little game, good physics , controls and rounded gameplay. The art is also very nice!
Wow, the ending was really philosophical. It was really thought provoking - though if you wait on the far left edge of the boat, you can just glitch yourself straight to the ending.
Lovely character animation but was a little to slow paced for me.
Lovely little game. I'm not going to repeat everything people said already but I agree with them, awesome job!
Nice, enjoyed that. I escaped my tiny world. Liked the artwork, very classic / 16 bit.
What an incredibly well-done metaphor, congratulations!
Too bad the game is quite difficult since you can't recover your health (pretty much the same complaint people gave my game) but the ending was worth it!
I love ludum dare too!
This was really cool. I wish the platforming was more challenging/interesting/fun but I overall concept is great.
Zipped only 52KB? I thought that would be boring, but that was amazing!
MadGnomeGamer: Most likely you have a very old graphics card? Probably one that doesn't support hardware T&L, or shaders, or something. Sorry about that.

OK... so at first I was confused about the theme. Then it all came together wonderfully. GREAT INTERPRETATION! The animations oh mah GAWD the cuteness factor is off the charts. The little umbrella... ugh. I just wanted to squeeze him... whatever he is. Needs audio. A great song would really tie this together.
I LOVE LUDUM DARE, TOO!
