Stampede at the Crooked Thorax Ranch

Kill the beetles, stay alive!

The original idea was for a sort of defense game with teeny-tiny creeps coming towards you that suddenly got bigger and harder to kill as they got close; hence, the magnifying glasses to denote the different zones of the field. I rolled that together with an idea about cowboys riding beetles and here's the result!

Lol... already that "Insert Coint" made me laugh at the first moment :DD
The Graphics are really nice, that must have taken a lot of time, but i think the main Idea for that game is missing... something that makes this game unique from gameplay perspective... (Also liked the "glass" effect alot)

Pretty exciting / frantic as they got into the inner zones, really nice interest spike. I liked the scene-setting at the start as well

Good Game, I love the magnifying glass effect, that really pulls it all together. I also like how they are easier to kill the farther out they are but also harder to see.

Great concept and setting.

That glass effect is smart, and a really great play on the theme. I had fun playing, and I loved the little screams the ants had when they died.

Nice magnifying glass effect! I found a way to win easy: Zap the bugs at the outside ring while you can get lots of them in one zap. Or is that part of the strategy?

Really nice graphics!

Anyway, fun game, kept me clicking madly for awhile.

PS I liked the intro, too! :)

I like the magnifying glass mechanic - very cool. Otherwise, it's very much Missile Command with one city and unlimited rapid shots, but MC was fun, and this is a very solid implementation. One of the top 2-3 entries I've seen - nice work.

The layered magnifying glasses are a great idea. The cowboy aiming his gun would'v been a nice touch as well.

Thanks to everyone for the awesome comments! I'm glad the Magnifying Glass effect was working.
@DaveDobson, It is very Missile command. I am thinking of remaking this game into more of a Robotron type game with the magnifying glasses!

Great job! Really funny intro. It would have been a nice touch if the gun would track with the mouse pointer (and it was a target).

If you rapid-click directly in front of your face, nothing can get through. But it's tense!

I, too, love the glass effect. Visuals, theme, and narration turn a boring 'spam-click' game into something I really enjoyed.

Loved it ! The gameplay is a classic, but the realization makes it fit really well the theme. And it's very fun to play thanks to the idea of zoom levels ("oh no, how comes they made it to this level, I have to get rid of them... oh no, some more are coming on the other side... ahhhhhhhh !")
