April 20th-23rd 2012 :: 10 Year Anniversary! :: Theme: Tiny World
Edit: woops, didn't realise using sourced music was against the rules of the 48 hour compo, changed to a jam entry instead
Edit2: If you struggle with the game it may be because of a bug - when you get hit by an enemy it slows you down until you release the key and then press it again. It's kinda a bug I never fixed.
You play as a collector of tiny worlds, several tiny worlds exist within your
world, and your world is a tiny world existing within another world.
You hoover up the worlds and their inhabitants.
The main gameplay concept is that your character must paint the platforms they
run on. The paint gradually 'drips' and the platform is lost.
WASD - Movement
Left Click - Fire paint platforms
Right Click - Hoover up planets

Heh, sorry. I guess playing it non-stop for a weekend makes it seem easier. Thanks for giving it a go though :)
The music comes from http://www.nosoapradio.us/ so I can't take credit for that.
I've tried getting it to run on a Mac but I can't get PyGame to work. I'll keep trying and see if I can get a version up.
Also, here's a video of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxaIvwKyML0
Great gameplay mechanic and music. Could do with some more enemy varieties to keep things fresh on the later levels (I played up to level 10)
The concept is great and I love the colors used, but the game is too hard, mostly because of what happens when you hit an enemy, it's almost an automatic loss.
i liked the mechanic a lot, and the game itself was cute!
Wow this is hard. =P I have to admit, I can't beat the first level...neat idea though. I can't give you points for the sound since it's not your own, unfortunately.
Cool concept, but way on the hard side. I consider it an accomplishment that I got to level 2. :)
The game's waaaaay too hard! Other than that, the game's art style is great, and the mechanics are interesting. Good job!
Dunno if it's what you are struggling with, but when you get hit by an enemy it slows you down until you release the key and then press it again. It's kinda a bug I never fixed.
Also I managed to collect 143 planets and reach level 20-something, so it is possible :)
Cool mechanic. The game is not too hard once you figured that pressing the movement key again stops you from going back.
However the tough part is getting to get the worlds to come to you when you right click. Never understood why it worked only once in a while !
Nice idea, nice art and if you made that "aaaah" sound al by yourself, nice screaming too!!!
Definitely a tough game. Really dig it. Good hell-platformer. Things coming at you everywhere and you can't shoot back. This game will hurt you, wear a helmet.
Woah, interesting but difficult game. I think it's definitely that key release bug that's doing it. Sometimes the enemies send you flying, and it feels like you have no control. You may want to mention it in the main part of your entry, because it can be worked with, but releasing your input is counter-intuitive.
Well done! I'm wondering if it'd be better to have less of the challenge from all of the enemies and more from limiting the amount of paint...
Thanks :) I had thought of having a paint reserve that refilled over time, didn't have the time to put it in though unfortunately

I'd really like to rate this, but I find it way too difficult to play, so I don't think it would be fair. I can't last more than 5 or 10 seconds.
I like the music though :-)
