GraviPlay

by Cheesescape Ltd. - Jam Entry

Welcome to GraviPlay!

The game is played by following the below specified rules:

1) Don't read the help file.

2) Eat cake.

3) Use your mouse control device to manipulate your path through space.

4) Navigate around the small planets using the gravity slingshot effect

5) Set your ultimate goal in life to the gate at the opposite end of the solar system.

6) Reach your ultimate goal in life.

7) Avoid hitting evil beings (e.g. Jellyfish) who wish to take your life before you accomplish your ultimate goal.

7b) Avoid smashing into large objects of floating cheese (e.g. planets... yes, that is what they're made of).

8) Eat more cake.

9) ???

10) Profit.

pi) Watch that ninja.

11) Enjoy. :)

Note: Because the Mac OS X version does not have a certain model, it will crash whenever it tries to use that model in its randomly generated universe. Please retry running it when this happens. Thanks!

This is a pretty cool entry. I like the graphics and the concept, but there doesn't seem to be any sound. (should there be?)

The difficulty is kind of unfair, though, depending on how things are generated.

It's extremely difficult to avoid the jellyfish at the beginning and near the jumpgate, although maybe I'm approaching the latter wrong.

Anyway, good job!

Very unique, but It's hard to tell when you're getting hit.

Interesting idea. The flight mechanics are good though there is no feedback for getting hit. Sometimes I died when I was sure I wasn't that close to a planet.
Works in Wine.

It's pretty much impossible to dodge jellyfish when you haven't built up speed yet. I frequently died without knowing why. Cool idea and very nice graphics though!

why is there a random floating cauldron in space?

Interesting idea, fun and responsive physics that behaved exactly as I expected, solid controls, just had no idea where I was going!

Can't see any gate around? Where's my ultimate goal in life? Randomly generated madness, I'd say :)

I couldn't complete a level. I always seem to die without knowing exactly why. I love the concept though! What would it play like if the camera would pull back when a danger got close? Good job, it looks really good!
