Save the inhabitants of Earf from the constant barrage of asteroids!
After an experiment gone wrong, the planet Earf has shrunk and it is up to the lone Spaceman (who was on the space station at the time) to rescue the inhabitants from the asteroids. Try not to get hit, and watch out for solar flares from Earf's orbiting star/moon. Collect the inhabitants when they send off a warning alarm from an imminent asteroid collision, and jump to the space station to save them.
Arrow keys to move, x or up to jump, c to punch asteroids, and q or exit to exit to the main menu.

Interesting idea. It wasn't exactly clear -how- you save cities at first, but I figured it out before too long.
@gutted: Well, it is done in Love2D 0.8.0, which is based on OpenGL, so it would take a rewrite in a different langauge I think :)
@oldtopman: What distro/audio backend do you have? It crashes for me sometimes too (especially once I added the music) and I can't figure out why yet.
@mattchu: I think there was something in the help about that, but I should have included a README with better info :P
@oldtopman: Ok, I reinvestigated in the code, and the problem was that I calling the function to play the walking sound too often (every loop through), so I guess it was overflowing OpenAL's sound buffer or something. I reuploaded it, and updated my sources. Thanks for helping my squash that bug (mostly convincing me it wasn't just my box :P)!
Got it to run with the fix. Cool game, though the whole air business is a bit confusing.
Nice, another love developer! This game is pretty neat, despite being another planet game. It's got some nice mechanics with the city saving thing, too. Nice job!
Ah, thanks... it seems that the hosting site dropped my file. Maybe I shouldn't have picked a site called FileDropper...
Doh. Hope you get the hosting problem sorted out. @humespeaks on twitter -- I'll come back and rate if you do.
Download is broken =(. Email me your game at zorfie123@gmail.com if you want me to host it for you :P
I really liked the character and the animation. The pixelated globe was cool, and the elliptical orbits worked for me. Kudos for music and homebrew sound effects. "Ow. Ow." Love it.
Like other players, I was a little confused about how to save people, but watching the score I figured it out.
I did have a consistent issue; it would lock up after my guy was hit by around 3 solar flare particles, the game would lock up. This is using the Löve 0.8.0 OSX runtime.
I think I can work around it by just hiding from the solar flares better, so I'll try that. If you will excuse me, ladies and gentlemen, I must punch some asteroids.
Pretty fun. Graphics are ok. Quite hard. Music is an obvious generation :P it;s not such a bad game actually

gutted:
Got a snippit of music while the window opened then hit with a message informing me that my implementation of OpenGL wasn't supported :(
don't suppose you could upload a less pretty version?
