April 20th-23rd 2012 :: 10 Year Anniversary! :: Theme: Tiny World
Ok, my Ludum Dare #23 entry is done at time! It's my first try and I'm happy with myself.
The game is a shmup about a tiny spaceship against a big and tough boss with increasing difficulty when boss health is decreasing.
Please, read the "Readme" file. There are the controls' guide to play it. Sorry, I didn't have the time to explain it in the game. If you have a doubt or advice, PM to e-mail or tweet me. I will answer your questions.
The music is not mine, though. I get them from Newgrounds' webpage and i has give the credits to their respective artists (in the Readme file and in the ending scene), like says the Newgrounds' webpage, so I'm not breaking any rights using it.
I put them because no videogame deserve be "in mute" and they gives a better videogame's feeling.
But i will try to learn to create music so in the next Ludum Dare i can say "It's all mine" xD
I hope you enjoy it.
EDIT: I'm posting an updated version of the game with some fixed bugs, some animations added, lower sfk volume and some patterns changed. Maybe it's a little more difficult than before, so enjoy it xD

Dear engineers, you built a great ship. However, your pilot is no good.
Jumping right to the complex boss battle was a good decision I think. Makes things interesting right off the bat.
Good game!
Okay, I suck at these games...I can't beat it. xD Pretty solid shm'up fight though.
I do have to give the proverbial slap on the wrist, though...the music is awesome, but uh...just a wee bit familiar you might say? ;)
Aw, man. The third pattern seems to be my limit. Pretty fun, though!
Woah that was tough. Nice job.
My only complaint is that the ship's shooting sounds gets a bit irritating after a minute or two heh.
Thank you so much for your comments.
I know it's tough, i lose some times playing it xD.
But here is a hint: Both mini-spheres can be destroyed. But beware that they will re spawn after some time.
WOW This is awesome. It had me swearing and laughing, and... Oh man it was great! Thanks!
Nice work, i didnt have alot of fun but that's just because i dislike the genre you chose. Very well executed!
Fun, and well-made, if pretty simplistic. Very challenging gameplay - I tried many times and didn't manage to win, although I got a lot better and nearly did. I like the retro look and music, but I wish there were more to it than shooting a big disk 500 times.
Thanks again for your amazing comments.
DaveDobson, it's actually 300 hits to beat him xD
Man, this one is hard!
Since it's a comp game, and the music isn't yours, I had to give it an N/A for audio.
That's ok, i don't have any complains in that. But because i don't know how to make music, that doesn't mean i don't have to put music in there. I wanted to give it some feeling in there too.
And i'm proud with myself for the results.
***I'm posting this on all non-browser games I bring up in an attempt to encourage folks to make browser games next time around. Do not take it personally.***
When hundreds of people make non-browser games, that means that, to play all of the entries, I would need to download hundreds of games to my computer. I typically use OS X, so Windows-only entries are particularly inconvenient.
Please consider making a browser game next time.
I almost killed it ! The music volume is too low, I had to stop firing to hear it :)
That was frantic, nice retro feel and bullet hell difficulty, the music is Nintendo's Kirby boss theme though?
Holy moles. That is madness! Figured out a good rhythm the second time around and was able to beat it :D Good job.
Awesome arcade style game. Really like sound effects and music. Tried many times but I cannot killed him
You should have said you didn't make the music, I had to rate it down, it's part of the rules, sorry. :(
Well, i had give the credits to their respective artists in the readme file and in the ending scene, like said in the Newgrounds' webpage, so i am not breaking any rights. And i don't have any problems to put it in my entry. Sorry if that upset you :(
Only i am sorry with myself for not knowing how to make music, but i wanted to add some appropriate music. It feels really different without music.
good work, Shackhal! the graphics were good, though I felt like they could have been more interesting in general. the gameplay itself felt nice and difficult, as a shmup should be.
but everything
is so
tiny o_o
I know that's the theme, but having to squint to dodge bullets in a bullet hell game is... agh.
Wow, well that game over music is fantastic! Great choice! But...But...Y NO POWERUPS?! :D Anyway, great game, keep up the good work, and look forward to seeing where you go with this or future games. Congrats on finishing LD 23! Thanks for making this!
Pretty fun entry, the bullet patterns were pretty tough. Would have liked for there to be a bit more too it.
Just genius ! I love this "Boss Attack", a good challenge for all Shmup's lovers.

Nice entry Shackhal.
