Try the web version. I haven't tested the windows one yet. Probably needs to point to ljwgl natives which it currently does not!

Very nice!

My only complaint is that the music gets a little annoying after awhile.

Anyway, good job!

Cool! You should work on a game over/game start screen - the death/restart game is kinda sudden atm :-)

I would really like it if I knew where the collision box of the player was, simply modify the sprite to show it clearly. I am a close dodger kind of guy and not knowing where bullets can hit me lead to some aggravating deaths!

Cool game, and I'll just add a ++ to what was said above me. It also would have been cool with some polished physics (just basic acceleration, nothing too fancy). And upgrades make games like this super addictive.

Also, if you're planning on using Java for the main competition and you don't have a host already, you might check out a project I've been working on, It's a site designed for indie game programmers using Java or Processing, with competitions like this in mind- just upload a jar and a thumbnail, and you have a decent looking website showcasing your game as an applet, webstart, and a downloadable jar- without wasting any time on web development. I'm working on adding tutorials and ad revenue sharing, but for now it's at least an easy way to show of your game. Check it out if you feel like it.
