December 16th-19th 2011 :: Theme: Alone
In this game you are a lone explorer trapped in an underground Necropolis filled with demons from beyond time and space. You don't want to believe it actually but they're there just beyond the lantern's light. Actually see them and you'll lose some of your sanity.
Thematically- the theme is Alone since the explorer is trapped alone in the Necropolis
Mechanic- The theme is "Alone" since the player should be almost Alone in the screen or he'll take sanity damage if there are any other creatures near him.
*The music is from http://www.playonloop.com/

Why do we have a gun if we can't use it?
I died even though the monster wasn't in the light, it was near the corner of the screen... other than that everything is fine.
Ps: isn't using music not by you against the rules?
Light detection seems off, you get wounded even if monster is on screen but in the darkness.
Fresh idea, nice execution, insane difficulty :).
Unfortunately, I have to award a low Audio score for you seem to have missed the part of the rules that states ORIGINAL ASSETS ONLY. Sorry.
Nice game. Good game mechanics. I think with the blood trails, darker darkness, better music and maybe only seeing the outline and eyes of monsters you would create a very nice atmosphere. And maybe instead of heart beat, you could have monster sounds that get louder the closer they are to you.
Knowing the monsters are out there and not being able to see them is cool.
Whaaat?I totally missed the part about the music. I thought it was fine as long as I use creative commons.[face palm]
@Doft: You ran out of bullets.;p
Hmm..I wanted the player to try to make the character alone in the screen as much as possible but since a lot of people seem to be complaining about the light radius I'll have to change that.
Anyway, thanks for playing! check out my blog btw:www.alternatdev.wordpress.com . I'm just starting out in game development so having people come to the bog and say hello would be nice.:)

Excellent. I like it a lot. It's simple, yet rather difficult and requires patience. For the next version make the light a torch with the dark areas even more dark = more scary :)
