Gravity Cat Thing - supermaximo93 - Jam Entry

Play as a gravity flipping forest creature (which we call the 'Gravity Cat ...thing'), trying to have some time alone by running away from the Evil Dr Cuddles! He wants to spend time with you and give you hugs but you just want to be alone!

The game was originally a *little* bit different, but due to complications, I decided to scrap the entire thing halfway through today, and made a new version. Crazy? Yes. But this version is better :P

Cool game! Difficulty is a little tough for not having any respawn points, maybe consider them or make the speed a little slower, otherwise great game!

Nice game!
It would have been nice if the end level bosses levelled up a bit.

It wouldn't need any change in code but I think it would be funnier if every time they came back the vehicle has and extra racing strip or a fin / larger different colour cannon etc.

PS. somebody just walking passed my room just said they liked the music

Thanks, I really appreciate your comments guys! I definitely agree, the game is difficult; I'll slow it down in the next version.

As for spawn points, I think that due to the nature of the game being "stay alive for as long as possible", I don't think they'd really work well, but I'll be making it so that there are pickups that regenerate your health.

@Kelly Thomas: Yep, I'll definitely be making the bosses power up. There were originally supposed to be two more bosses as well, that I just didn't have time to put in. They've both been drawn, I just need to code them. And pirate ship boss was rushed and basically a copy of the UFO boss. It was going to be different but I just didn't have enough time.

Very nice! The only thing I would change would be to widen the screen a bit more so you can see what obstacles are approaching in time.

Absolutely love the title graphics.

It seems like the non-boss segments after the first level were very short.

In the forest, its hard to see the stone if its on the bottom.

The boss sequences are pretty easy to beat if you just jump to the rhythm of the blasts - Maybe it'd be more interesting if the blasts were irregular?

CireNeikual: Yeah, that would help quite a lot (as seen in Canabalt; the screen is super-wide)

evilseanbot: I agree with all of your criticisms. I'm sure I changed it so that the non-boss parts were longer just before I submitted... Maybe I forgot to recompile! Oh well.
