The Diary

by DalsGames - Jam Entry

We are four guys that are very new to game development and tried to join this competition. We had to face the truth at 21.53 on 19th that we were not able to finish the game.

Things that we leant:
*Dont try to learn AI programing during the contest.
*Start developing right away and dont wait for graphics.
*Dont focus on one or two major bugs which took forever to fix.

Anyways here is out Game. The state of the game is very WIP and heavily ALPHA so if you play the game bare with us.
We're happy to receive any type of critics as we are to learn not to win :P

Controlls: WASD and E to USE things.
Aim with mouse and shoot with left mouse buttom and reload with right.
M to mute the music!

Programing: David Skeppstedt, Andreas Brommund
Graphics: Anton Begnert
Sound: Tim st Lundkvist

Not bad for "heavily alpha". Much more bullets are needed per level/screen though, or a way to get more.

I found it to be quite buggy, but since you say it very WIP that's fair enough. The sound and music really stood out over and above most other games I've rated so far. Nice work.

Good for a WIP, +1 for making your own sound ;P
@Jacic you use right mouse button to reload.

And good luck with your gamedev in the future!

Glitchy and surreal. I actually kind of enjoyed it! I agree that the player needs more ammunition.

Pretty good game! It flow and is pretty fun.
The "jumping back" when you are dead is the most annoying thing since it really confuses the player. Other than that I didn't find any severe bugs to make it be "heavily alpha". Nice music, fits the theme.

I enjoyed the music and found it very moody. When I first played I didn't know how to reload and was going to say it needed more ammo too, but then I read the comment saying reload is right mouse button (and then realised that was in the game description too!). I played it again, and reloading made the game less difficult and more fun.
Hope to see more from you guys!

The way the game switched between levels was disorientating. The collisions also made the game pretty difficult, being pushed away too far after getting hit. However, I loved how the arm with the pistol would detach itself from the player if I made it rotate too much. :D

Thanks for all the respons! We have taken all the critics in concerne as we decided that we would continue developing the game. We know it's not perfec at the stage as we submitied it but we will try to get it alot more smooth and fun,of course less buggy too!
