TO win you need to collect 250 Aloneium. There is a counter in the bottom left of the screen. You'll know when you get it as the screen with flash.
I do apologize about it being so tall and about not telling anyone what the controls were.
Arrows to move, space to jump and z to fire.
The game is too big for my screen's resolutions. Try scaling it to fit?
the game is 800x800. if your having trouble viewing the bottom of it, try pressing F11 to put your browser in fullscreen mode. Thank you for the feedback. I'm taking notes :)
Having it so big isn't good for a flash game. Next time, consider a resolution like 640x480. Also, the jumping mechanic needs work. Why does he need to be touching the ground in order to jump, or at least fall so slowly? The idea is good though, and it IS addicting somewhat... Maybe something to think about expanding upon after the competition?
Right-click on the game and do "Show all" to see the whole thing... At least that's what I did. This game is pretty cool, but I think it could use more types of cavemen. For example, ones that take two hits to kill, or ones that have bows. Also, it annoys me how there's a lives system that doesn't do anything... It resets the game completely, I might as well reload the page! And finally, I must say the jumping is terrible! It's like something out of a Scratch game (go to scratch.mit.edu), and a bad one at that.
Sorry for the purely negative feedback - trust me, this is the kind of feedback I always give: long and full of complaints. I have trouble with both complementing and being concise.
After figuring out how to right click and show all, I tried the game.
The jumping mechanic is horrible, but that's OK, the best strategy is to sit at the bottom and wait for stuff to come along. 250 is a very high goal though, so I probably won't finish this one.
Doesn't fit on my lappy O.o No problem though. But the Z key on my keyboard is also not where it is on US layouts... Don't use the Z key, makes games unplayable for many people :)
Nice for a first entry, I was a bit disappointed that the small spaceship in the opening screen was not in the game itself :-P
Not bad for a first entry, you've got graphics, sound, some game play, and even a score!
The spaceship on the opening screen is the best sprite, shame you didn't use it in the actual game somehow.
Not bad, but initially i wasn't sure about what to do. Nice bleepy fx though :-P
Gameplay was way too basic for the goal, not to mention the jump mechanics could had been much better. Having said that, had a few chuckles with this game and the title was clever.
It's an okay game, good for a first Ludum Dare entry, please note that there are a few defects with the game, such as a bad resolution in which most people will not be able to view the entire game on there screen, next time try something like 640x480px. The jumping needs work too, its a good concept, but needs some work. A good first entry though! :)
I appreciate all the feedback :) I'm not sure why the jump is the way it is... I was so worried about finishing the game I completely forgot to revisit jumping to see if I could make it better.
@texel really? I'll need to look into that then. it worked for me when I play tested it.
So did anyone find the easter egg? If not I'll give you some hints.
1. there is a clue on the title page
2. there is a clue on the log entry page
Again, I really appreciate the feedback and look forward to entering LD23! :)

Went back and checked the code, saw the error and fixed it. The game would only enter if you collect EXACTLY 250 Aloneium. I changed it from an == check to a >= check. now you can see the ending! :)

Call me a stickler, but I think bugfixes during the judging is against the rules. Not really sure though.
in the beginning i had no idea what to do. i could press x, yes, but after that, i wildly pressed around my keyboard because i couldn't do anytihng UNTIL i pressed z, which on my keyboard is between t and u (QWERTZ-keyboard). you should always keep that in mind
also, when you upload a bugfix, you can. BUT you should add it as a third link (so you would have the links WEB, SOURCE, WEB(BUGFIX) )
@Pythong Mental note: Tell users what the controls are next time. Thank you for the info about the bug fix.

I've fix the issue. Play the WEB version to play the version with the game ending only if you get exactly 250 aloneium. Play the WEB(Bugfix) version to play the version with the game ending if you collect 250 or more Aloneium.
On a sidenote, I'm happy that I'm making all these mistakes now. That way when LD23 comes around it should go more smoothly for me. Again thank you all for your feedback!

The only challenge in this game is figuring out how to jump properly. That poor alien's legs just don't work right. :(
Didn't like the jumping mechanic and I didn't see the controls explain anywhere.

does the game have to be so tall? my macbook pro is at max resolution and i can't fit the whole game into a chrome window.
and how do i win? or is there just a score counter that i can't see?
