December 16th-19th 2011 :: Theme: Alone
My second Ludum Dare entry.
The idea here is that you're a Bomb Defuser, guided by your trusty radio buddy, Microsoft Sam. You use some tools to disarm Bombs. I made the delay between each bomb slightly long, so you can screenshot the transition to show your friends how little of a life you have, by disarming, like, over 100 bombs.
Also, the games files contain references to an old Intellivision game with similar gameplay, can you find it?
(P.S. Any decently trained programmer's eyes will burn out if they look at the source. Be careful.)

Tee te te te gngugugu. Whilst I wasn't impressed by the game play, my trusty radio buddy, Microsoft Sam, made me laugh! Is there more than just select the tool and click things? Perhaps if the wrong tool made it explode? (I'm sure I misclicked whilst rushing through)
SOUNDTRACK OF THE YEAR. NOBEL PEACE PRIZE FOR TE TE TE TE TE TE.
Kaphonaits, I'm glad you came back with the experience you got from your first dare. :D
I'm not sure whether I could lose (I waited for some time), so I think the game lost a lot of immediate agency from that. As well, I'm also unsure how the theme relates--besides highlighting how lonely the profession feels. Addressing that through the game (perhaps by having Sam comment on your lack of social life, etc) would have really pushed the theme through. Otherwise, fun game and clever use of sfx. :)

Nice concept, but is there a way to lose?
