From the ReadMe
---------------------------
Ten Yards Alone
This game follows most rules of American Football, the target audience would likely know the basic rules already. However here is my poor attempt at teaching the unprepared:
Fourth quarter and your entire team has been completely injured, physically and emotionally. You dig deep and find the will to carry on. With practice equipment.
Space to snap the ball into the throwing machine.
Space again when ready, for the machine to toss the ball.
Arrow keys for movement. Sneak a run without snapping.
Avoid your opponents and try to score; (RUN UP)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
An interception will take time off the game clock.
Failure to convert on 4th down will:
- Lead to a punt return.
- < 20 on far field; give the AWAY team 6 points
- < 40 on far field; give the AWAY team 3 points
- Make your life, as lonely as it is, more difficult.
EXTRA
-----
User/config.cfg allows you to change the window size, fullscreen etc- AS WELL as the starting points for the AWAY team and how long the game will last. Hope you enjoy.

A solid entry, very difficult though. Graphics are utilitarian, but serve their purpose, sound is pretty good, voice-over is a little strange though.
Ooh, feedback! It should be noted, for any and all future reviewers, that I do read and fully appreciate feedback. I hope you give the game a chance passed the difficulty it gets extremely easy, says the developer. I hope the fun can be had in learning to overcome the difficulty, because there is a lot of different rules/things going on.
So to summarize; Please keep leaving thoughts!
The mechanics are very odd. Was pretty fun for awhile, but the movements of the defenders seemed too random.
"Target audience would know the rules already" - uh, non-US devs are not invited to the party? ;-)
The game was quite confusing at first, I had to realize that sometimes it is not interesting to send the ball to the machine. The voice kinda clashes with the simple sounds/graphics. Also, the game crashes when you lose.
But that was a unique idea, thanks for the game!
I enjoyed playing this. The graphics leave a lot to be desired, but the audio fills the gaps.
This was really fun! :) Great audio and graphics, reminded me of some classic NES or Atari action. Awesome. I did notice a crash/bug when I lost a game though. The game didn't crash when I won or tied, but I got the "This program has stopped working" error when I lost. Good job!
Tom 7, you need to have the latest DirectX redist installed; http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=35
I couldn't be bothered installing the latest DX redist, on slow net connection so downloaded the missing dll instead. Nice retro feel, scored my first touchdown ever (non-american)!
What the dickens is going on? I say, chaps, is this what passes for sport amongst our trans-atlantic cousins?
I was unable to understand how to play it at all. Cool concept and original idea, but too hard for me.
