"Still Dreaming" is a short adventure into an abstract landscape. The player is faced with a variety of puzzles and hopefully will get a bit of laugh out of trying to escape this weird dream.
The main goal was to create a game with a specific atmosphere that guides the player through a short story giving a glance into a different world.
This is distributed as an executable jar. So all you'll need is JAVA to run this. This works on Windows/Mac. Make sure you turn on the speakers, there are some eerie sounds.
UPDATE: Enhanced post compo version added. I mainly fixed up some visual things and few glitches. More content will be added later.
I'll be porting this over to Android!
Tools used:
- GIMP for all graphics
- REAPER.FM for audio
- LIBGDX as a graphics framework
- ECLIPSE IDE

I felt like a brainiac after solving the tree puzzle...
Awesome game man, keep on deving this one!
The particle effects and the ambient atmosphere created by the music and sfx are amazing! Great experience for such a short game. Cheers!
Gorgeous. Plays really well. The audio and the graphics gel together really well.
I really don't get this. Where is the puzzle? I don't want to spoiler this, but I didn't need to think even for a sec...
And also you don't know when is autopilot and when the controls are yours...no fun here.
Quite the experience, puzzles hit just the right level of difficulty for me. Good job.
What seems to be a beautiful game (seeing from the screen shots) doesn't run on Linux =(
Thanks everyone for playing :)
@N0_Named_Guy: Unfortunately I couldn't test it on Linux :( I'm working on uploading an applet so that should hopefully work through your browser.
I had to download the source as well and run the jar from stilldreaming-desktop so it could get assets. But I still couldn't get it to work on Linux. Here's the error in case it helps you debug.

@foobaz: Thanks for that, I'm looking into it. Not sure why you had to get the assets from the source though, they're definitely included in the jar.
The source is a royal mess.. :P
@foobaz & @N0_Named_Guy - I uploaded a web version.. Hopefully It'll work on Linux :)
Really nice graphics and audio. Awesome, but too short! :) Knock, knock!
Love this one. Very pretty. I could definitely play a longer version :D
Thanks for putting up the applet. It works for me.
Nice game with nice graphics (although a bit short, but I'm not really complaining for LD). I didn't quite understand the ending (although I have a feeling there isn't that much to understand).
@foobaz: glad the applet worked. And yes there's not much to the ending, except it's an ending :) I ran out of time and needed to somehow finish it.
@marudziik: Yes!! Was waiting for someone to discover that one :)
@grimloom: Longer "full" version is in the plans. I had a design ready for 6 stages but just couldn't pull it off in 48hrs. Glad you enjoyed it.
Neat puzzles. The graphic-style of pink + green is also quite impressive.
Fantastic game! Loved the audio/visual puzzles... the music and sounds were great and the graphics were beautiful. Really nice mood. I thought the ghost squids could have looked a tiny bit nicer, and more than 2 puzzles would have been fun, but still, great 48 hour puzzle game!
Very nice atmosphere and presentation. Visuals are great, though I did not quite like the character design. Apple puzzle was a bit not too straight-froward because no feedback was given when I tried dropping just one apple near him. Too short though.
Nice graphics and audio! The puzzles were just challenging enough for me to keep at it, though the game is pretty short.
This game is as short as pretty. The music is really atmospheric and I loved the style. I wish you make a longer post-competition version.
Very nice ambience. The sounds add to it and I love the surreal dreamscape feeling of the game world. Such a shame it's so short. I'd like to see more of this in the future.
Wow, thanks for all the love people :) I'm already working on more content..
Meanwhile I polished a few things up and added an enhanced version. Cheers!
Rather impressive visuals and sounds but the puzzles seemed more trial and error-ish than than anything.
Great game, I love the atmosphere of the game, the aesthetics and sounds effects.
Awesome! Love the feel created by the spooky music and dreamscape graphics! Reminds me soo much of beneath a steel sky.
Knock Knock.
Who's There?
Britney Spears.
Britney Spears Who?
Knock Knock.
Who's There?
Oops I Did It Again.
LOL!
Well, this is a little bit beautiful, isn't it! Great visual and audio work. However I was totally stumped on that first puzzle until I chanced the solution, wasn't really obvious. But yeah, great entry!
Lovely art and music, impenetrable first puzzle. I couldn't get off the first screen :(
I'm not really a fan of adventure games (I think i've said that very same line a few hundred times by now).
But your sound design is awesome, especially the stereo effects, and the art is top notch, congratulations!

Very pretty!
